All we do is very tied to QGIS and its ecosystem; that is why we take great pride in investing plenty of time to support this fantastic project.

Thanks to our fantastic clients who subscribed for a support contract, our team could work 270 hours accumulated in our sustainability initiative last year.
On top of that, we invested 1040 hours (yes, that is 130 full-time days of our employees!) in pro-bono work for QGIS and QField.

Although the numbers are impressive, we think we all can do more. That is why we also decided to step up our financial commitment and upgrade to the large sustaining membership level! 
Rock On #QGIS

From unlocking selective atlas layout export to opening individual datasets and creating GeoPDFs, QField 1.9 is all about giving even more power to its users. The release also comes with significant user experience improvement, such as faster rendering and restoring the last viewed map extent. Some of you might be long time QField aficionados; others might just be starting out using QField for their day-to-day business. In both cases, it’s great to have you on board, and we’d like to thank you for the confidence you place in QField and for the support and the invaluable feedback you give us. 

You might be wondering how extensive the QField user base is, so here some interesting figures:

• 92K active users/month
• 350K downloads
• 400 new users/day

Yes, those are pretty impressive numbers, and we’re quickly heading to half-million downloads, but the most impressive of all deserves a nice image :-)

QField on Windows and iOS

We’ve been working hard, and thanks to some fantastic sponsors, we now have a running version of QField both for Windows and iOS devices. 
The Windows build already released as a Beta, while the iOS build is still in our internal testing phase. If you would like to be considered for pre-release testing of the iOS version, please fill out our iOS tester form.

QField 2.0

With QField 1.9 out in the field, we’re now entirely focused on our next major release cycle. QField 2.0 will be a major step toward a fully integrated GDI with seamless ingestion of field survey data. 
Thanks to QField 2.0 and our QFieldCloud offering, your team will be able to focus on making sure you efficiently get the best field data possible.

QField 2.0 will be released to the public as soon as QFieldCloud is open for general availability. Until then, you can already test the beta release of QFieldCloud by reading further...

The wait is over; QFieldCloud (Beta) is here and will revolutionise the way you think about getting data from your field team to the office and let you focus on what's important, making sure you efficiently get the best field data possible.

What can you expect from QFieldCloud?
In short, open-source seamless synchronisation of your field data with your spatial infrastructure with change tracking,  granular team permissions management and online-offline work capabilities in QField thanks to its native QFieldCloud integration.

When will I get it?

As you probably know, when we announced QFieldCloud some time ago, we also opened a pre-registration for early adopters. 

In the last months, we have been heavily testing and polishing QFieldCloud; the time has now come. On May 10th, we will open the first batch of public places on QFieldCloud Beta.

If you registered already, check your inbox regularly and be on the lookout for your invitation mail by our Mascotte Nyuki the bee. As soon as you are activated, you’ll be able to invite three friends or colleagues to use QFieldCloud immediately. No pre-registration involved for them, so choose wisely ;-)

As the interest for QFieldCloud is immense, the waiting list is pretty long, but do not despair; we hope to have worked the whole list by early June. After all pre-registered accounts are activated, we’ll open registrations to the public.

The plan

During the Beta phase, each user will get a free Team account with all functionalities enabled so you can test all QFieldCloud has to offer.
One month before the end of the Beta Phase, we’ll inform you to decide what plan you would like to subscribe to.

The workflows

We mainly focused on two workflows during the development, one based on PostGIS and one on Geopackage. While both workflows are working, the Geopackage one is initially considered experimental since we focused our efforts on the enterprise-ready PostGIS-based workflow.

Throughout the beta, we will stabilise the Geopackage workflow so that by the time QFieldCloud goes into general availability, both workflows are rock-solid. 

Furthermore, since QFieldCloud can internally use QGIS to manage synchronisation, we’ll be able to offer support for further providers like WFS-T, MSSQL, Oracle or Hana spatial as remote backends. As usual, you’ll be able to use those providers directly from QField for live connections, as you can do for web services like WMS, WFS and WMTS.
