GIB FYM The John Mackintosh Hall welcomed back the Gibraltar Festival for Young Musicians (GIBFYM) organised by GAMPA. From the 19th to the 23rd April, 5 to 18 year olds competed in different categories, including, solo instrumental, vocal performances, duets and ensembles with the Gala held on Friday 23rd.

To be or not to be! This term, Year 5 have explored William Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Children have completed various activities based on the play such as drama, interpretation and writing activities.

Faith Diary The vine is a potent symbol in the Bible, and in today’s Gospel, Jesus uses the image of the vine and its branches to illustrate the importance of connection within His church. As the individual branches of the vine derive their strength from the main stem, rooted in the soil, so we too must draw our spiritual vitality from a firm connection with Jesus through the strong stem of His church, deeply rooted in the fertile earth of the faith. If we fall away our faith will simply wither and die. It is only when we are firmly joined together that both we and the church can grow and prosper.
Basketball Handling Lower Primary have been working on their basketball handling skills this week. They’ve been set dribbling challenges and have also been learning about the “travelling” rule.
St Patrick’s Day tournament is on the way! Year 5 & Year 6 have been learning how to play netball. In a matter of weeks, they’ve learnt all of the netball positions, how to get ball-side, types of passes and the key rules in preparation for our much anticipated St Patrick’s Day Inter-House tournament next week.
