The month of May is Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the economic, social, and cultural contributions of Asians and Pacific Islanders to our society. This year, NAAAP is keenly aware that we have a lot of important work to do to stop racism, xenophobia, hate, and violence not only for Asians but for all. And we can only do this TOGETHER AS ONE.

a video project inviting women to share their own narratives.
Along with the tragic wave of attacks against our community, the Atlanta spa shooting left an emotional scar for many. The victims had hopes and dreams; they were mothers, daughters, caretakers and breadwinners, but it felt that the media didn’t always paint that picture.
Together with the Center for Asian Pacific American Women and the LEAP, the NAAAP executive team wanted to give AAPI women the opportunity to tell their own stories instead of the narrative being written for them. Through a social campaign called Her AAPI Story participants are invited to record a short video to share on their Instagram page with the hashtag #herAAPIstory. Click to learn more on how to share your story.
Know of an unsung hero in your community or workplace who has significantly impacted or lifted the Asian community? Nominate them to be recognized at NAAAP's virtual Gala.
