When Mommy Sings a Worship Song
There's a worship song I've been playing on repeat the past week and when I'm singing to God, Cadence (my nine month old son) looks at me like "there's something different happening." It's so interesting to me that he can tell a difference from when I'm singing to him for play and when I'm worshiping. I pray he will know the wonder and awe of being in the presence of God. We model this for our kids when we worship, either individually at home or corporately at church.
I encourage you this week to intentionally worship in the same room with your kids and engage in some other activities that inspire awe. For me, getting outside and admiring nature inspires the awe of God, our magnificent creator. Help your kids see the patterns and intricacies in the flowers or leaves. Watch the sunrise or the sunset together and see what colors paint the sky. Be still and listen for the birds and see if you can spot their nests. Let your kids go outside in the rain and get wet. I would love to hear how your family worshiped together or admired God's work this week! Happy Mother's Day!
