MAY

GOAL: KINDNESS
VERSE: Be Kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another as God in Christ forgave you."
Ephesians 4:32
_____________

What do you think of when you think of kindness?
Does anyone in particular come to mind?

KINDNESS as defined on Wikipedia is: a type of behavior marked by acts of generosity, consideration, or concern for others, without expecting praise or reward.

It's one of the main topics in the Bible:
God's kindness is meant to turn us from our sin; to us save us through His Son. Jesus laying down His life for us was the ultimate act of kindness. Jesus' kindness towards all people during His early ministry is our example to follow. The gift of the Holy Spirit who fills us with love and kindness was so kind of our Father.

Where have you seen God's love and kindness in your life?
Because of this, how can you show kindness to others?

Everyday we have opportunities to be kind to others. Some ways are simple ~ a smile, a helping hand, showing concern or care. Other ways are more difficult ~ overlooking an offense, showing generosity, forgiving, considering others above ourselves.
I'm not sure about you all, but sometimes it's those closest to us we have the most difficult time being kind to, right?

This month, as we focus on KINDNESS, let's allow the Lord's KINDNESS to transform us into kind people working for Him. Working to advance the Kingdom through acts of kindness with strangers and those we hold close.
Get the kids involved too by focusing on one act of KINDNESS a day. Have them brainstorm ideas for random acts of KINDNESS for strangers but also some kind acts to be done in the home.
I want to cultivate an environment of kindness in our home and this is a great place to start!

THIS MONTH!

Because I never made it around to posting my post on patience, I hope to do that soon (hope being the key word!).
We also have a special guest I've been wanting to work with for years, Jill Kincannon. She is a woman of many gifts and talents. Artist, writer, home decorator. She has written a beautiful piece for us about her story and how the Lord's kindness drew her to Himself.
She has also written a Bible study called, A Heart Transformed. It's so good. Check it out here.

__________

Grateful for you all. Have a happy MAY!
