EVENT RECAP

Last Wednesday, MASA held our first in-person workshop of the year in collaboration with Accounts NextGen, exploring and learning about the utilisation of the different functions of the popular accounting software - XERO. Various representatives from Accounts NextGen recounted their personal experiences as both graduates and seniors, before offering insights into what a career in the accounting field entails.

Thank you to everyone who attended and we hope to see you soon at our Careers Unlimited event, in collaboration with ACCA happening this Tuesday 4th May!

FEATURE ARTICLE

With uni in full swing, assignments building up and other commitments such as part-time work or extracurricular activities to stress about, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or burnt out. As week 9 approaches, we hope you can maintain a good work-life balance using the following tips:

 1. Prioritise Tasks

You may be putting unnecessary pressure on yourself if your to-do list for a day is too long. Rather, prioritise what is imminent and complete those tasks efficiently. This way, you will feel productive AND the free time you allow yourself will motivate you to kickstart the day after.

2.  Plan Ahead

If you haven’t already, we recommend keeping a physical or digital diary where you jot down your daily activities. Before starting a week, looking at what lies ahead will not only prepare you mentally, but it’ll also guide you to allocate adequate time for your commitments.

 3. Remember you can say ‘no’

If you know you have not started your 3000-word assignment due on Monday, consider telling your friends you won't be able to attend that weekend getaway  they'll understand. To avoid missing out on the next trip, make sure you use our tips to get started on your next assignment!
