Lazarus Saturday Activities
We enjoyed a beautiful Lazarus Saturday and Palm Sunday, full of prayer and worship, almsgiving, and fellowship. We wish to thank all those who participated in the various activities, including the GOYA making Lazarakia, our little ones for making beautiful crosses, those who prepared our sanctuary, including Marley who climbed high to polish the chandeliers. And of course to our AHEPA for their time and energy in providing a beautiful fish luncheon for our community.
Resurrection Pot Luck Supper
Please join us after the Saturday Resurrection services for a Potluck Paschal Celebration. You can drop off your covered dish in Mangos Hall prior to the service. We look forward to celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ with each of you.

You, Who are the Physician of our souls and bodies, grant recovery to the sick, raising them hastily from the bed of suffering so that they may glorify You, our Merciful Saviour, and protect the healthy ones from any disease. Bless, O Lord, strengthen and protect with Your grace all those who with philanthropy and sacrifice take care of the sick at their homes or in hospitals. Remove all disease and suffering from among the people and teach us to value life and health as Your gifts. Give us, o God, Your peace and fill our hearts with steadfast faith in Your protection, with hope in Your support and with love for You and our neighbour. For it is Yours to have mercy on us and save us, our God, and to You we give glory: to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
If you or someone you know would like to be listed here in future emails, please submit this form or contact the office at 210-735-5051.

Ecclesiastical Corner
Message from Archbishop Elpidophoros
The Lord was buried like a seed, so that like the grain that is covered by the earth, He might bring forth the everlasting harvest of life and love to fill the universe with unending joy.
Wisdom of the Fathers
But why did He appear not to all, but to the Apostles only? Because to the many it would have seemed a mere apparition, inasmuch as they understood not the secret of the mystery For if the disciples themselves were at first incredulous and were troubled, and needed the evidence of actual touch with the hand, and of His eating with them, how would it have fared in all likelihood with the multitude? For this reason therefore by the miracles [wrought by the Apostles] He renders the evidence of His Resurrection unequivocal, so that not only the men of those times-- this is what would come of the ocular proof--but also all men thereafter, should be certain of the fact, that He was risen. Upon this ground also we argue with unbelievers. For if He did not rise again, but remains dead, how did the Apostles perform miracles in His name? But they did not, say you, perform miracles? How then was our religion instituted?
St. John Chrysostom
Homily I on Acts I, 4th Century
Now this is a proof that Christ is God the Word, and the Power of God. For whereas human things cease, and the Word of Christ abides, it is clear to all eyes that what ceases is temporary, but that He Who abides is God, and the true Son of God, His only-begotten Word.
St. Athanasius of Alexandria
On the Incarnation 55, 4th Century
