Kensei is now a first-grader! Although the facilities are outdated, our children's school has the second-most children in the prefecture. We're glad to be planting a church in this area, with many families with children.
謙清は一年生になりました！施設は古くなっていますが、私たちの子どもたちの通う小学校は、県内で2番目に子どもの数が多いそうです。子どものいる家庭が多いこの地域に教会を開拓することができてうれしいです。

God is Doing Something!
神様はここ幕張新都心で素晴らしいことをされています。

Thank you for praying for us so faithfully! God is doing something great here in Kaihinmakuhari Shintoshin! All glory and praise belong to Him!
First, I want to leave the minute-and-a-half video I made a few months ago here in case you haven't had a chance to see the area where we are planting a church. It's just a short video of a prayer walk through our area and the opportunities we have all around us. I have a ministry vision for reaching each of the areas in the video. But the first priority right now is planting a church here in our apartment complex. Click here to watch the video on Youtube.
The school year begins and ends in April here in Japan, so last month our children moved up a grade in school. Taishi is now in 6th grade and looking more like a man than a boy every day. Emi moved up to 3rd grade and Kensei just began elementary school! Mona also just began kindergarten. So most days we now only have our 1yo, Shion with us.
We began holding worship meetings in our home in March with just our family attending. We thought getting in the rhythm of worshipping in our house every Sunday would be good preparation for when we start having people to worship with us. Well, a month later we had someone attend and now she is attending regularly every Sunday with us. She is a Japanese Christian lady who was a member of a large Gospel-centered church in Dubai for a number of years. She just returned to Japan and knows no other Christians in the area, except us now. It has been a pleasure having her with us the last few weeks. Please pray for Aoi-san and for her unsaved parents and sisters.
Please continue praying for the Satou family. We had planned to get together with them on the 24th of April, but our children got sick. We hope to reschedule dinner with them after the holidays are over. (Right now we are in the middle of a holiday of 4 days that ends on May 5th, called Golden Week).
Please continue praying for the Fennell family. We were not able to reserve the campsite because it was completely booked, but Yuko-san invited Nozomi to go to the beach and dig for clams with her. During that time they were able to have some deep conversation for about 2 hours. Right now she and her husband, Kyle, are unhappy with their life here and are considering moving to Canada. May God give us more opportunities to share the Gospel with them before they leave Japan. Or maybe God will work in their hearts to want to stay as they accept the Gospel by faith.
God is answering your prayers for us to purchase our home. We heard back from the owners and they are willing to sell the home to us. Please pray they sell to us at a low price and that the purchase process will go smoothly.
We are still praying that God would provide some "core members" for our church plant here as well as church planting partners. We hope to find like-minded partners to plant a church with a plurality of leaders from the beginning.

いつも私たちのためにお祈りいただき、ありがとうございます。 神様はここ幕張新都心で素晴らしいことをされているでしょう。 すべての栄光と賛美は神様に属しています。
まず、教会開拓している地域を見る機会がなかった方のために、１ヶ月前に作った1分半のビデオをここに添付します。このビデオは、祈りの行進と、自宅周辺を紹介したものです。このビデオに出てくるそれぞれの地域に福音を述べ伝えるミニストリービジョンがありますが、今の最優先事項は、コロンブスシティで、教会開拓をすることです。ここをクリックすると、Youtubeでビデオを見ることができます。
日本では、進級は4月にありますが、私たちの子供たちも無事に次の学年に進むことができました。 大志は小学6年生になり、日に日に男の子、というより、より男性のようになってきました。恵実は3年生になり、謙清は小学校に入学しました。最愛は幼稚園に入ったばかりです。家では、1歳の信生しかいない日が多いです。
私たちは3月から、家族だけで自宅での礼拝を始めました。毎週日曜日に家の中で礼拝をするリズムを作ることは、人を招いて礼拝をするときの準備になると考えたからです。その1ヶ月後、ある方が参加してくれて、今では毎週日曜日に定期的に参加してくれています。彼女は日本人クリスチャンの女性で、ドバイにある大きな福音主義の教会のメンバーとして何年も活動していました。日本に帰国したばかりで、この地域では私たち以外のクリスチャンを知らない、とおっしゃっていました。この数週間、彼女が私たちと一緒にいてくれたことを嬉しく思います。葵さんと、彼女の救われていない両親と姉妹のためにお祈りください。
佐藤家のために引き続きお祈りください。4月24日に家族で会う予定がありましたが、子供たちが病気になってしまいました。ゴールデンウィークが終わったら、また会う約束をしたいと思います。
フェネル家のために引き続きお祈りください。キャンプ場がいっぱいで予約できませんでしたが、優子さんがのぞみを潮干狩りに誘い、一緒に行くことができました。その間、2時間ほど深い話をすることができたそうです。ゆうこさんとご主人のカイルさんは、現在この国での生活に不満を持っていて、カナダへの移住を考えているそうです。彼らが日本を離れる前に、さらに福音を伝える機会が与えられますように。また、彼らが信仰によって福音を受け入れるときに、神様が彼らの心に働きかけて、日本に残りたいと思うようになるかもしれません。
神様は、私たちが家を購入するための祈りに答えてくださいました。所有者は、家を売却する考えのようですから、低価格で、購入手続きがスムーズに進みますように、お祈りください
教会開拓のために何人かのパートナーだけでなく、「核となるメンバー」が与えられるように、これからも祈り続けてください。私たちは、同じ志を持ったパートナーを見つけて、最初から複数のリーダーがいる教会を始めたいと願っています。

Nozomi and I were able to "meet" with some of the brothers and sisters from a supporting church in Hawaii the other day on Zoom. They are such a blessing to us and it was fun answering all their questions about our life and ministry here in Japan. In the future, we would love to use Zoom to meet with supporters on a regular basis.
先日、サポートして下さっているハワイの教会の兄弟姉妹とZoomで「会う」ことができました。神様は彼らを通して、多くの祝福をお与え下さいました。日本での私たちの生活やミニストリーについての質問に答えるのはとても楽しかったです。将来的には、Zoomを使ってサポーターとのミーティングを定期的に行いたいと考えています。
