eNews Update
May 5, 2021

Beautiful days, and a great time to worship on the land.  With all safety precautions in place and continuing, Spirit of Joy worships every Sunday, 9am on the property at Highland Valley Road and Highway 67.  This coming Sunday, Mother's Day will be celebrated together as a church family.  The women of the congregation will be receiving a gift from the Men's Fellowship honoring this day and the family.  We will also have our traditional "Starbucks" give-away to honor the day.  In the weeks ahead, we will invite you to receive Holy Communion, and commemorate Memorial Day in worship.
Thanks to all who were part of our effort to build a home with Project Mercy.  Those who participated were: Trudy Woodard, Karen Dietmeyer, Darren Lynch, Carla and Wes Brustad, Karyn and Pastor Dan, Jim, Janine, Trevor Stemper, (and Stemper friend),  Joan and Scott Brown.  Thanks to all!
Two areas of our life together can be highlighted this week.  We hope you are collecting books for the drive-by book distribution to families.  Books can be purchased or like-new for children and youth.  Bring them on Sunday, or drop them off at the church office during the week.  We also are excited about our new youth ministries director, Randi-Kate.  The youth meet every Sunday at Ramona Oaks Park, 5:30pm.  We ask that all the youth invite others to join and help Randi-Kate get to know you and the joy of being part of our church family.
As we look to each week, we pray God's blessings on your faith journey and every day,

    Pastor Dan

And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

Hello Church Family,
Throughout the month of May, Spirit of Joy will be collecting children/youth Christian books.  Please bring any new or like-new books that you would like to donate.  In June we will hosting a Christian Book Drive-Through and hope to distribute as many books as we can to the children in our congregation and maybe all of Ramona!  Any Christian book appropriate for ages infants through 14 are welcome.  Thank you so much, and hopefully we can reach a lot of children with a gift of a book, and invite them to worship with us!  If you have any questions please speak with Jessica Parker or Jennifer Emerick.
Please donate books by:
  1. Dropping them in the collections box each week at our outdoor service.
  2. Dropping them in the collections box at the church office during office hours.
  3. Calling Christy Serra at 760-917-1023 to arrange a time for pick up at your house.
Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.

Men's Weekly Breakfast continues every Thursday, 8am, at Denny's in Ramona.

We have no specific agenda except to get to know other Christian men in an informal gathering.

We hope you can join us.

We are grateful for all ministries at Spirit of Joy meeting in the back room of our church facility.  Each of our groups can meet currently with a maximum of 8 persons.  We continue temperature checks, and everyone is asked to wear a mask.  Cleaning is requested after each group meets.  We are moving closer to opening up our facility to more opportunities.  Thank you for your dedication to the protocols that have been in place for Spirit of Joy gatherings.
Check out ways you can support Spirit of Joy's ministry!
Safety Procedure for Worship
We encourage your arrival between 8-8:45am for set up.  Everyone is encouraged to wear masks on entry and departure on the church property.  Bring your own chairs, pop-ups, umbrellas, and bottled water.  To insure your safety, we will have a table with prepackaged communion (1st and 3rd Sunday each month), bulletins (also a digital bulletin is available on your electronic devices), and temperature check.  Please practice social distancing of at least 6ft of separation per family unit.  Trash cans are available to dispose of all trash upon leaving.  If for any reason you are not feeling well, at higher risk, or uncomfortable with attending, we invite you to enjoy the service live-streamed.  If you prefer staying in your car, there will be a designated area for you to do so.
