How to Live a Happy, Purposeful Life - Virtual

Tuesday, May 4 at 6:30 PM

What are the two most important days in your life? "The day you are born and the day you find out why," Mark Twain famously wrote. The search for happiness is hardwired in our DNA. It transcends age, gender, geography, vocation, and personal circumstances. Learn ways to live a life full of happiness and purpose with authors Dr. Sanjiv Chopra and Gina Vild, who will discuss their recent book, "The Two Most Important Days: How To Find Your Purpose -- and Live a Happier, Healthier Life."

About Sanjiv & Gina: Dr. Sanjiv Chopra is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He is also the bestselling author of the book "Brotherhood," written with his brother Deepak Chopra. Gina Vild is the former associate dean and chief communications officer for the Office of Communications at Harvard Medical School.

Trivia Smackdown 4: Haverhill vs. Plaistow - Virtual

Friday, May 7 at 6:30 PM

Join us once again for a night of cross-town/interstate trivia with our friendly rivals from Plaistow.

Click on the link below to register with the Plaistow Public Library. Please include your team name below and the number of players on your team.

Not only are you playing for bragging rights, but restaurant gift certificates will be awarded to top placing teams. The game is targeted towards adults but is open to all ages. Some questions will be Jeopardy level, while others will be easier. Local/regional history will also be featured.

Well-known local trivia host Stephen Wagner will be our quizmaster. This program will be held on Zoom. We will send an email on the day of the program that includes the link as well as additional information about the setup and rules of the game. See you then!

About our host:

Stephen R Wagner is the author of six books and is The Former Poet Laureate of Amesbury, Massachusetts. For the last three years, he's hosted a monthly trivia night for Barewolf Breweries in Amesbury. Stephen's style of trivia eschews a traditional focus on pop culture, and instead looks to explore the fascinating facts of the universe all around us. One fun fact is that Stephen has never actually "attended" a trivia event, himself, yet he's hosted over thirty five well attended trivia nights, for a variety of public and private groups, over the last several years.

Virtual Tabletop Guild

Saturday, May 22 at 2:00 PM

An ancient darkness is on the rise as the Virtual Tabletop Guild begins the Age of Ashes campaign for Pathfinder 2nd Edition!

Nestled in the foothills of the Five Kings Mountains, the quaint town of Breachill has a proud tradition of assembling groups of adventurers to handle tasks beyond the skill and scope of their humble guardsmen. When during this month's Call for Heroes a humble goblin scholar beseeches the town council to investigate the signals for help from an abandonned Hellknight citadel, will our adventurers be up for the task? What strange creatures and bygone mysteries will they find hidden beneath Hellknight Hill?

Participants may create their own 1st level characters for Pathfinder 2nd edition to play as, or use available pregenerated characters. If you have any questions about this process or the system, feel free to send me an email!

The meeting will be conducted virtually via Discord and the Foundry virtual tabletop program.

--For Adults (18+) only.

Registration is required. A link to the Foundry game will be sent at least 15 minutes prior to event start time.

Registrants must have a stable internet connection, a microphone (integrated, external, or headset) and headphones/earbuds.

If you are interested in this program but are unable to attend, I would like to hear from you! Please send Marcus an email at mvalenzuela@haverhillpl.org with any questions or concerns regarding program scheduling and/or content.
