Sunday Worship Schedule

30% of our seating capacity present at indoor liturgies. This means there will be 55 public spots available each week for the 8am & 10:30 liturgy, RSVPs are still required for those planning to attend. We will also be monitoring RSVPs and limiting attendance to 30 family units, as that's how many pews are available given the need to keep distances between households.
In the coming weeks, more of our acolytes and altar guild teams will be returning to their ministries - and we are so thankful to again be able to have their gifts of time and dedication with us on Sunday mornings.
Bulletins will be provided for all attending.
Pew cushions will be removed from pews where you should NOT sit - so you will know which pews are available by finding one with a cushion.
Seating will be done from the front of the church towards the back. Please sit at the forward most open pew. This allows people who come in after you to more easily find an open pew.
There will be no outdoor Eucharist on a weekly basis, but we will consider still having some throughout the warmer months, as we learned that a lovely worship atmosphere exists on our front lawn.
Donations/offerings can be given at in-person worship, online or by mail. The plate will not be passed, but will be available in the aisle for you to put any contributions in.
Communion remains bread only at this point.
Distancing and masking is absolutely required by all. Even if you have been fully vaccinated, there is no such thing as total protection from this virus. For everyone's health, please help us keep the safety protocols in place. We continue running our HVAC system which has been upgraded to kill viruses in the air.
Children can come to church with their families upon arrival and will leave for Children's Church at the start of 10:30 worship and return at the Peace. There is no separate registration needed for Children's Church.
As always, the 10:30 liturgy will be livestreamed on our Facebook page. We have no plans to ever stop doing this.
The plan above is contingent upon Diocesan guidelines and not having another surge of COVID19 in our area.

Children's and Youth Ministry News

Vacation Bible School is planned for August 2nd-August 6th from 9AM-1pm daily! VBS is for 4 year olds-rising 5th graders. Please let us know if your child(ren) will participate. The very short form linked below is just to give us an idea of enrollment expectations. A longer registration will come later.

10 Second VBS Interest Form!

You don't want to miss Youth Sunday 21! This special Pentecost liturgy will be designed especially for our children and youth and will feature Senior Reflections from our graduates. We've reached our maximum registration capacity for this liturgy, so please plan to watch our livestream from home if you didn't register to attend. You can also add your name to the waitlist to get a seat if someone should cancel.

Graduating Seniors

We want to make sure that we honor and recongize all St. Luke's members who are graduating from high school, college, graduate school, or military-training on Youth Sunday (May 23). If you or someone in your household is graduating, please let Fr. Robert know of their name, institution that they are graduating from, and post-graduation plans. Please send this information by today, May 5.

Meals on Wheels Volunteers Needed

St. Luke’s Meals on Wheels volunteer coordinator, Lynn Mills, is in need of 2 volunteers to take over Route 2 on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Contact Lynn at 704-638-6259 or lpmills917@gmail.com if you're interested in helping. There is also a need for more substitutes for deliveries.

Recycling Opportunity

You can help keep used pens, markers, glue sticks, and related packaging from the landfill! St. Luke's is a drop-off location for the Bic Recycling Program through TerraCycle.

All brands of empty writing instruments, glue sticks, watercolor dispensers, paint sets, and flexible packaging can be dropped off on the front steps of St. Luke's on Sunday mornings in the provided box. They do not have to be completely clean or totally empty.

Local environmental advocacy group, Happy Roots, will be shipping off the recyclables that we collect, and earning reward points for the weight of their shipment, so this project also benefit another non-profit in our community.

Clean out your drawers and cabinets and do a small good deed for our planet.

If you can't bring items on a Sunday morning this month, contact Caroline and she can meet you another time.

Pastoral Care

Ministering to the sick and those in crisis is an important part of the ministry of St. Luke’s. If you know of a parishioner who is in the hospital, is ill, or has other pastoral needs, please notify the clergy. Please don’t assume that someone else will notify us. We would rather hear from several people than not know when a member of our congregation needs a clergy visit. If you would like to have someone added to prayer list, after you have his/her permission, please contact the clergy or office staff. Those listed in the “crisis” section will be on the list for one month, after which they can be added again if the crisis continues; otherwise, they can be moved to the “ongoing” section. Please also help us by letting us know when we can remove someone from the list.
