 Meet Kristen Wheaton Clayton, our AFPNB Board Treasurer. If you attended our Lunch N’ Learn last month, you may recognize her!
Kristen is the Chief Development Officer at the Saint John Regional YMCA and has been a member of AFP since 2012: “I was part of AFP NS, as NB chapter didn’t exist yet,” shares Kristen. “I am proudly a founding member of the NB chapter.”
Kristen learned about AFP and the opportunities it provides when she won a grant to attend AFP Congress in 2012 - “I love continuous learning and sharing with fellow fundraisers!” says Kristen.

Sending our sincere condolences
 Unfortunately, we have some sad news to share. We recently lost two great members of the fundraising profession.
Simone Joyaux, ACFRE, Adv Dip, FAFP, Certificate in Philanthropic Psychology, passed away on May 2, 2021. As Roger Craver so aptly said in The Agitator, Simone was "...a beloved shit-disturber and hell-raiser, who battled tirelessly to improve our sector by applying deep devotion, abundant energy, and development skills highly honed by outrage against injustice and inequality." Our hearts break for Simone's equally generous life partner, Tom Ahern, and for their family. If you'd like to leave a tribute to Simone, visit Caring Bridge.
Catherine Hinton, CFRE, one of our founding AFP NB Chapter members and board member, passed away on April 18, 2021. Many of you may know Catherine through her role as Vice President at the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation. Catherine played a key role in getting our AFP Chapter up and running. And she gave of her time and talent as a presenter for several professional development workshops. We send our sincere condolences to Catherine’s daughter, Katie, and the rest of her family.
