Well, Ron DeSantis is at it again.

Today he lifted the state of emergency in Florida and ordered all emergency mandates issued by local governments to be lifted immediately.

In doing so, he pointed to what's still happening in some places across the country, even now.

He mentioned Brookline, Massachusetts, extending its outdoor mask mandate at a time when virtually everyone now acknowledges the uselessness of outdoor masking.

He mentioned Washington, D.C., which has outlawed dancing at weddings.

It's "insane," he said.

The mayor of St. Petersburg, meanwhile, is outraged. "Cities like St. Pete, Tampa, Orlando, Miami and Miami Beach, saved Florida and the governor's behind throughout this pandemic. Can you imagine if each city had been led by Ron DeSantis? How many lives would have been lost? What would our economy look like today?"

The mayor hasn't looked at the charts.

You can't tell which place did what.

Meanwhile, the New York Post, in a story about the governor's action, added this:

"Public health experts have said regions should aim for under a 5 percent positivity rate for COVID-19 tests before lifting restrictions.... It recorded a daily positivity rate of 5.87 percent on Sunday, up from 5.7 percent the day before."

It astonishes me that "public health experts," with their arbitrary numbers and metrics, still have the nerve to speak at all. How many of their recommendations have been walked back at this point? How much damage do these people have to do, while relatively freer states continue to prosper, before they're embarrassed enough just to slink away for good?

Also, I wanted to share this sign outside a Moxy hotel:

So the strategy now is to be as irrational and abrasive as possible? Who is advising these businesses?

Well, speaking of advising businesses, here's a deal I'm making -- and will never make again.

Ever since episode 1872 of the Tom Woods Show, I've been talking about membership sites on my entrepreneurship email list.

My Liberty Classroom is a membership site. So is Netflix. So is a site that for an ongoing monthly fee teaches you to play guitar, or where a math teacher shares his lesson plans, or a dog trainer teaches you how to train your dog, or a vet teaches you how to keep your
pet in optimal health, or an artist teaches you to paint, or a photographer teaches you to take better pictures, or a financial planner teaches you how to manage your money -- or whatever.

It's a way to generate ongoing revenue instead of making one sale one time and crossing your fingers that more sales will come in.

So I featured Stu McLaren, the world's foremost expert on membership sites, on the Tom Woods Show.

And I in effect said to my folks: it's great to theorize about how wonderful capitalism is. It's even better to go out and do it.

So:

Tomorrow (Tuesday) Stu is doing a livecast with people who run membership sites, and they're going to explain how it's done.

Should you choose to join Stu's Tribe, I will move heaven and Earth to make you successful.

When your own membership is ready, I will promote it to my newsletter audience, my podcast audience, and my 100K followers on Twitter. That ought to give you a massive advantage.

On the off chance that it doesn't, I'll give you a free consult, we'll work out the kinks, and I'll do everything in my power to get the word out for you a second time.

This would normally cost someone thousands of clams. But if you join Stu's Tribe, it's on the house.

Now go reserve your spot for the livecast, and do something that will change not only your life, but also the lives of all the good folks you'll help:

Tom Woods
