A brown API family and the mom, Unity, is in yellow with two kids on either side of her in orange. API Chaya's logo is in top left. Text reads: Unity Comes Full Circle: Celebrating the 10 year anniversary of unifying Chaya & the Safety Center. you can still donate to support our campaign and survivors at apichaya.org/gala

Incredible community,

We are so grateful to you! Given all the challenges of the past year, and the ongoing realities of the pandemic, we still have had 850 supporters in our virtual gala campaign - and counting! You pushed through zoom fatigue, showed up, and we are now only $43,000 away from our fundraising goal!

Heading into the final stretch of our goal means so much; it will allow us to continue to provide support to survivors, help people leave exploitative and abusive working conditions, and share language and culturally appropriate resources around vaccines, and keeping safe during COVID. Hear from one of our Survivor Keynotes from our live event, about her journey with harm, healing, and API Chaya:

Alice, a Filipina survivor with long black wavy hair and a tan jacket sits on a wooden chair. Text reads "With API Chaya's help, I started to see that I could have a new beginning without needing my husband." You can click to watch the whole video.

Alice gave us permission to share her speech in the hopes that API Chaya can meet its goal of raising $400,000 for survivor services. You can see even more on our gala page, including two community organizing program spotlights, an update on the agency from API Chaya’s Co-Directors, and more coming throughout this week! Your Support is Critical

During these times, when stay-at-home orders are in place and more survivors are home with abusive parties for longer hours in the day, your support helps API Chaya stay flexible to respond to the changing needs of our clients. For some people, they may only have a window of an hour to seek help and reach us. Your support allows our staff to work with individuals to navigate safety planning, creating networks of support, access to courts, and meet basic needs. It allows us to meet the needs of clients who have fled violence and are now single working parents, including clients and families who are facing illness. This is a time when we can all work together for the common good.

And don’t forget - we have a few more of these beautiful API Chaya mugs as appreciation gifts to those who donate $500 or more. These are double walled, insulated copper-plated mugs produced by MiiR, a certified B-corp headquartered right here in Seattle.

Copper colored MiiR mug with white monocolor version of API Chaya logo on the view with handle on the left, back view is just blank, and view with handle on the right says We BELIEVE SURVIVORS"
Please continue to share the API Chaya message with your networks and if you can give, please do. Our online fundraiser is open for one more week and the videos from our live program are available at apichaya.org/gala
