Meet Dweleanor, Our Lucky Trike
Thanks to the wonderful, whole-hearted folx at Working Bikes for the gift of Dwealanor, our new mobile Little Free Library.
Dweleanor is named for Deirdre's father Edward and her maternal grandmother Eleanor, two of the most voracious readers in her family of big readers.
Our first forays will be providing pop ups in parking lots of the many senior and rehab residences in our north Chicago neighborhood Rogers Park the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. We have received many donations so far - please reach out if you have new or gently used books or new crosswords, sudoku or other game.
Over the summer Dweleanor will be joining us at some of our music story times at La Villita and Douglass Parks and in North Lawndale at Hope Blooms Here Plaza, and with our partners from the Chicago Literacy Alliance, Brown Books & Paintbrushes and the Neighbor to Neighbor Literacy Project. We will be sharing the schedule very soon!
