Pentecost Sunday, which occurs 50 days after Easter, is our observance of the giving of God’s Spirit and the birth of the Church. The apostle Peter cited Joel 2:28 to describe what happened to Jesus’ followers that day, and it shall come to pass ... that I will pour out my spirit on all flesh. This indwelling of the Holy Spirit transforms us into witnesses of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection; and empowers us to continue his gospel message and servant ministry throughout the whole world. Pastor Dale preaches on the Christian community’s mission of service and justice.
We are excited to welcome you this coming Sunday for in-person worship, Kids Church, and Youth Rendezvous. 9:00 AM has reached seating capacity. 10:30 AM worship has a few seats open. Use the In-Person Worship button on our website to make a reservation.
You may reserve seating for the following Sunday, May 30 either by responding to the church-wide email sent early Sunday morning, labeled Sunday Reminders, or by clicking the In-Person Worship button on our website which is revised early Sunday. If you or someone you know needs assistance making a reservation, contact Diane Cretin at 890-8015.
In-Person Worship Reminders:
You will be greeted at the door to have your temperature taken, then proceed to the sanctuary where someone will help usher you to a seat. We recommend you arrive a little early since each of these steps will add a little more time.
We will be observing California and Sonoma County health and safety protocols, such as wearing a mask/face covering and social distancing, as well as provide hand sanitizers.

After worship we invite you to join us on the church lawn for prepackaged snacks, served water, and fellowship.
Online Worship will continue to be presented on our website for those who are not ready to return to in-person worship or unable to do so.

God's Justice, God's People

Hybrid gathering: In the Freeman Room & via Zoom
Taught by Tim Stafford
 We’ll study what the Bible tells us about God’s justice through law and gospel, while also considering God’s chosen people in both Old and New Testaments to see the part they played. Then we’ll skip forward to American slavery and racism, talk about God’s justice in that context, and discuss the good, the bad and the ugly in the American Christian response. Finally, we’ll try to make sense of God’s purposes in this world, consider his promises to set it right, and ask what we can hope for.
Vigil of Remembrance, Repentance, & Hope
On the Year Anniversary of the Death of George Floyd
Tuesday, May 25 – 8 PM, Church Lawn
 All are welcome to join us as we mark this solemn occasion, our commitment to Anti-racism and Social Justice, and look ahead with hope. Bring your own chair for this outdoor, socially distanced gathering, and please note there will be no access to the building or restrooms.

We celebrate the birth of Damian Georg Shatto born May 16 to Tess and Corbin Shatto of Rohnert Park. Damian’s proud grandparents are Alicia and George Deguchi.
We extend our loving support and prayers to the family of Robert Wallace who passed away May 18. We join his wife Patty, their children, and grandchildren in mourning Rob’s loss. A memorial service is being planned and will be announced in the coming weeks.
We also learned that long-time member, Marian Dolgireff, passed away on April 20. Please remember her family in your prayers.
