New Reconciling Ministries

Please give a warm welcome to the newest Reconciling ministry of the movement:

Believers in Action at Carlisle UMC in Carlisle, PA

You can see a map of all Reconciling ministries here.

Thank You, Wellspring Donors!

We are so grateful for the 633 Wellspring donors that give on a recurring basis to renew and water the roots of this movement.

The ministry of Reconciliation belongs to us all – educating, inspiring, advocating, organizing, and equipping for LGBTQ justice in the Church – and we are honored to do this work with you.

Participate in the Pride Parade(s)!

Last year's virtual Pride parade was a blast, and we got so many beautiful photos and videos from you, Reconciling family. This year, we're going to do half of our parade at the service on June 6th and half of the parade at the auction finale on June 13th.

Using the link below, drop off photos of yourself, your Reconciling Church, or your Reconciling Community in rainbow or other Pride-related gear! Alternately, you can send us a video that's 10 sec. or shorter. OR, you can make and send a photo of a SHOEBOX FLOAT! Here's Rev. Emily Bagwell's example:

We'd love to share your photos and videos at the end of our Pride worship service on June 6th. Thank you for participating!

Submit your photos to the Pride parade!

In the News & Newsworthy

Rev. Lydia Muñoz writes for MARCHA (Metodistas Asociados Representando la Causa Hispana Americana) about the diversity of the Latinx community and its wide past and present of LGBTQ+ affirmation.

It's the one-year anniversary of RMN board member Derrick Luruth Scott III coming out. Reconciling campus minister and worship leader, Derrick speaks poignantly in this post about the tension between serving as a Christ-like example of queer grace and the conflicting messages tolerance could send.

Bishop John Schol of Greater New Jersey writes that Good News and the Wesleyan Covenant Association and its New Jersey affiliate have acted in poor faith, seeking to divide the annual conference and sow disingenuous information.

Rev. Drew Ensz writes about the broken system in which he still finds himself under complaint with no apparent road to resolution 600 days after his public and holy stand of support for LGBTQ inclusion in the Church.

Reconciling Church Lovely Lane UMC in Baltimore, MD, embarks on a renovation project to become more accessible and undertake other developments. Says Erik Alsgaard for BWC: "It was the first time Bishop Easterling preached in a local church in person since the pandemic began last March. And it was the first time Bishop Easterling – the first woman bishop in the 230+ year history of the Baltimore-Washington Conference – had preached at this historic Methodist site, whose first pastor was Francis Asbury in 1772."
