“Yes-Man” for God

Acts 13:22 (NIV®)
“After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’”

Many of us have worked with a “yes-man,” someone who agrees with everything that a coworker or a boss says in order to get that person’s approval. When we hear someone called a “yes-man,” it’s an unflattering description because their constant approvals do nothing to improve the process or product. David, however, was a different kind of yes-man, a man whose devotion to God and intent to do his best in service to his Lord pleased God greatly. God said of David that David would do whatever He asked him to do—a stamp of approval from Almighty God! I want to become a yes-man for God, the kind of man who will do whatever God asks me to do. I want to learn to trust Him more fully and honor Him more completely in everything I say and do.

THINK ABOUT IT
You will not be able to accomplish learning to trust God more fully and honor Him more completely in your own strength. But God’s Holy Spirit will help you. You only have to ask.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I ask for Your Holy Spirit’s help to trust You more fully and desire from my innermost being to honor You in all I say and do. May all my thoughts and words be pleasing to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Blessings,
