COVID 19 and PSALM 11
In our last newsletter we lamented the deaths of our school principal and soccer coach because of Covid 19. Since then healing and more freedom have blossomed around us (our boys are back in school again). Still, restrictions continue like wearing masks, no indoor activities like restaurants, and museums), a night-time curfew.
Our esteemed colleague helped us reflect on the impact of Covid altered reality this last year and a half. He reminded us how Covid became the cause of innovation, then it turned into the thief of Kairos (time), making us uneasy friends with Disappointment. We resonated with every word. Psalm 11 reminds us about what the righteous can do when foundations are shaken – “In the Lord I take refuge!”

SUMMER AND FAMILY

After four years in Hungary we are finally coming to the US for 6 weeks this summer.

Our priority – spending time with Dave and Barb- our favorite saints who happen to be David’s parents. We are excited to be around our college aged nephews and a niece. We also hope to visit with you! Drop us a note via facebook messenger or call David’s brother, Tim (see phone number below).

We also need to get vaccinated to resume travels in order to teach and train nationals from Eastern Europe (in-person, not just on-line!!). And we can resume “date nights” with indoor dining!!

We are planning to rent a car to drive from GA to WI. Estimated rental cost is $1500-$2000. Would you prayerfully consider helping us financially to cover the cost of the rental?

MINISTRY DOES NOT TAKE THE SUMMER OFF

August – September are very busy months for biblical training of our Eastern European colleagues. David will be teaching the Survey of Christian doctrines in Moldova and Poland. Yulia will be coaching new missionaries in the area of language learning in July.

Women discipling women.

In addition to leading several women’s Bible studies (this year we studied John, Micah and Jonah) our local church presented a new need that requires prayer! Our local church in Hungary is very international. We have many international students, young professionals who were never discipled and are asking for it. Though we might only have them for a couple of years we want to set their feet on the Rock. Please pray for Yulia and other four mature Christian women to move forward depending on God’s guidance to provide an effective way to mentor younger women in our church starting the fall 2021.
