LYC weekly newsletter

A very warm welcome to new members joining the club for 2021 and thanks to those returning members who have re-joined.

You will notice the new look and feel of the weekly email, thanks to the use of Mailchimp.  This was something discussed amongst the committee a while back, we hope you like it and feel the change is worthwhile.

Thursday Club

An elite team gathered, Vince, Keiron, Ian, Kenny, Chris and Scribe. The one Soling that is now ready for launching has been joined by a friend!

Further work has been carried out on the safety boats! Thanks to the phantom welders the small RIB trolley is now ready for action. The large RIB is undergoing a steering upgrade and the hydraulic conversion will make steering so much easier.

Thursday Sailing

Only one boat out last night, a Wayfarer with one sailor under instruction for RYA Level 2.  Kenny lept in as Safety boat driver. Very difficult shifty winds for the beginner.

Saturday Sailing

There will be a safety boat on the water on Saturday afternoon launching about 1330.

This means that sailing can take place in single handed boats, or, boats crewed by members of the same household.

Masts are up on the Wayfarers, Fevas (one out of action), Vision, Omega, Laser 16 and the Stratos. This means nine club boats are available, so come along and let's get them on the water. Please observe social distancing.

The clubhouse remains closed except for access to the disabled toilet.
