To help raise funds for charities responding to the current crisis in India, I'm running a reverse-sale on all books and games that I sell on indie games platform itch.io. What's a reverse sale you ask? It's a special event during which all my stuff is more expensive than usual. You can even pay me for things that I normally give away for free! What a special opportunity!
This reverse-sale coincides with itch.io's Creators Day, when all platform fees are lifted - that means that if you contribute today (Friday) you can give even more to vital work dealing with the coronavirus crisis.
All the money I make on itch.io this weekend will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee, a coalition of charities formed in 1965 that responds internationally to disasters. They are currently working in India to:
- support India’s health system with PPE, equipment, and isolation and medical care facilities
- give vulnerable families the means to protect themselves with water, soap, handwashing stations and information
- ensure that the Covid-19 crisis doesn’t mean people go hungry and children become malnourished.
