NOTICES

Display Your Pride 2021
  • June is Pride Month, and U of T Engineering wants to celebrate and give prominence to 2SLGBTQ+ voices within the engineering community on our websites and social media feeds. Please help us out by sharing your lived experiences through our online form. Respond to as many questions as you wish by May 31.
Engineering Research Days
  • On June 24 and 25, 2021, the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering is launching Engineering Research Days: Empowering Innovation, a new virtual event that will bring together our research community and create opportunities for collaboration. The event is open to all students, staff and faculty in U of T Engineering, as well as current and prospective industry partners and key stakeholders across the research ecosystem. Join us!
Faculty & Staff Resources
  • U of T faculty can obtain a Certificate in Effective University Instruction by completing a nine-month online course in Effective Online Teaching Practices (EOTP) offered between June 2021 and February 2022. The course combines synchronous online learning opportunities, asynchronous online modules and a community of practice. The Certificate in Effective University Instruction is offered through the Association of College and University Education (ACUE) and endorsed by the American Council on Education.
Textbook Orders
  • Spring is here and it’s time to place your course material orders for the upcoming term at the U of T Bookstore. Submit your course material orders through Verba today. For more information, contact the Bookstore or the textbook buyer team. The Bookstore wants to help you and your students however they can: they can arrange print or digital course materials — or both. Students can order course materials for delivery or contact-less pick-up from the U of T Bookstore online. Textbooks can be shipped directly to students domestically and internationally.
COVID-19 Reminders & Updates
  • It is mandatory for all faculty, staff and students to complete the UCheck self-assessment before visiting campus. The web-based tool takes users through a short series of questions and can be completed on any device with an internet connection. Students, staff and faculty must wear non-medical masks in all common-use areas — including labs, hallways and meeting rooms — and follow physical distancing protocols. If more than two people need to meet, find a larger space, or if weather allows, head outdoors.
  • The latest COVID-19 updates, information and resources can be found on both the University of Toronto website and the U of T Engineering website.

SOCIAL MEDIA SPOTLIGHT

Asian Heritage Month

May is Asian Heritage Month, an opportunity to celebrate the many achievements and contributions of our Asian community members.

It is also an opportunity to stand in solidarity against the rise in anti-Asian violence and discrimination in Canada and across the world. U of T Engineering stands with the Asian community and is committed to fostering a safe environment where every member feels like they belong.

Our Faculty is vibrant & diverse — it is truly one of our greatest strengths. During this month, and every month, let us continue to celebrate that and support one another.
