Hello, everyone!

My hand is back to normal after 10 days on an antibiotic! Let me take a moment to be serious: cat bites that puncture the skin are serious. The bacteria goes below the skin, can't be washed away, and spreads like crazy.

If your cat bites you (even if you love your cat) keep an eye on it and do not fool around. Seek medical attention right away if it gets red, swollen, and more sore than it should be. I could very easily have ended up in the hospital with my sewing hand a mess.

In happier news, Jim was totally unaware of the excitement he caused and has gone on with his life guilt-free.

After taking a break last week, I'm excited to talk to you all today, Wednesday, May 19, at 2:00 CST. I'll be talking about needles which are a bit more complicated than they ought to be!

New Pretty Threader for Big Needles

This Mandala Threader by Bohin is a sturdy wire threader to use with bigger embroidery needles. It works with my #9 Bohin Crewel needle but it doesn't work with smaller needles.

I like the size and shape of this pretty threader. You can fancy yours up with thread—mine will remain quietly plain.
