Volunteers Needed for Fully Filled Arts Camp

We are so excited to bring back Arts Camp this summer - even if it will look a bit different. One thing that hasn't changed it we will need your help! We're looking for workshop assistants, volunteer childcare and small group leaders. Check out your summer schedule and let us know where you can serve and share Christ's love with kids from our church and community!

Pastor Sean's May Book Club

This month's book club pick is called 'Unlimited Grace' by Bryan Chapel. One review of this book says:

"This book has given me clear understanding of God's grace in a practical and powerful way. My heart was stirred to create notes with Scriptures and prayer journal outlines, based on ideas in this book. I am utterly grateful to have read this book as it has already enriched my relationship with our Father. Thank you, Bryan Chapel!"

Be sure to grab a copy!

Save the date, and make plans to join us for this very interesting presentation which will include a Q & A segment. For questions, please contact Stephen Righter. Please RSVP to the office.

Give To Liberation Veteran Services

Help us serve Liberation Veteran Services! They greatly appreciate any donations of frozen meals, toilet paper/paper towels, and cleaning supplies (like Lysol). Dry goods may be dropped off in the church kitchen anytime. If you would like to participate with a meal, please bring a casserole, container of soup/chili, or frozen breakfast sandwiches to the church by 4 PM, on Friday, May 21st. It can be something purchased or homemade, as long as it can be refrigerated/frozen for later use. Be sure it is in a dish that you don't need back!

You may deliver items directly to the kitchen or you can drop off donations on the metal bench outside the church's main doors and either ring the doorbell or call the church office (804-794-0238). Contact Judy Righter with questions.

Sycamore Summer Project Needs

The summer project is designed to give college students an opportunity to grow in a Gospel-rich environment.  Each summer we invite 4-6 college students to come take part in the Sycamore Summer Project. Our hope is to provide them with a paid internship or work placement for the duration of the program, to challenge them to lead as they serve our church, and to encourage them with the good news of the Gospel through study, discipleship, and service.

We are in need this summer of the following things:
- 1 or 2 host families for students who are not local
- Men and Women willing to walk alongside these students in discipleship for the summer
- People willing to provide meals for weekly intern meetings
- Prayer partners

If you are interested in helping us out this summer or would like to learn more about these opportunities to care for and serve these college students please contact Marty Cates at mcates@sycamorepres.com.

Baby Bottle Campaign

The month of May is a perfect time to focus on supporting the Pregnancy Resource Center of Metro Richmond since it is the time of year when we think especially of our own mothers on Mother's Day!  We hope you'll help Sycamore support the Pregnancy Resource Center of Metro Richmond as they work to provide resources and care free of charge to women and men unprepared for a pregnancy.

It's easy to participate!

  • Pick up a baby bottle from the foyer and fill it with your loose change
  • Write a check to the Pregnancy Resource Center and designate it for the SPC Baby Bottle Campaign (checks can be put in your bottle or placed in the black offering box in the church office).
  • Donate through this FundEasy site

Make sure all your donations are made and baby bottles returned to the church office by May 31st!  Our target is $1,000 for the PRC!
