May Member Spotlight
California Pest Management

Spotlight on California Pest Management

1. Describe your business

Being a long-time resident of San Dimas and in the Pest Control industry since 1983, it only made sense to establish California Pest Management here in San Dimas. In 1993, I developed the concept of alternatives to traditional pesticide treatments for pest protection which became known and practiced worldwide as Integrated Pest Management. We strive to work with the community through our complimentary service to McKinley Children’s Center, Haynes Family Programs, and David and Margaret Home and giving back to community groups and causes.

We provide pest management and control for every type of pest you can think of. From Tree Health maintenance to residential pest and rodent control to pigeon management and gopher and ground squirrel control. We can provide commercial weed abatement and school pest management programs.

2. What makes your business unique

We are a small business and can pivot quickly to adapt to changing situations such as last year when COVID19 hit, we immediately added to our service offerings treatments to sanitize for the infection. Our staff viw our clients as members of the family and will take care of them as such. We specialize in school pest management programs well ahead of our competition. Lastly, we are your neighbor and provide an honest service.

3. What do customers/clients say about your business

We put our emphasis on client care in everything we do. Our 5-star rating on Yelp shows how our clients feel about us. Most of our growth is through word of mouth and recommendations plus our online presence.

4. Why did you join the San Dimas Chamber

We want to support our local businesses, especially our small business owners. Through the Chamber of Commerce, we can interact with other business owners and share common problems and solutions.

Thank you to Jim Harmon and his team!

The City of San Dimas in partnership with the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments, County of Los Angeles and the State of California for the purposes of administering Measure H funds to combat homelessness was awarded funds to help implement elements of our Homeless Plan.  Our Homelessness Plan includes action items that focus on homeless prevention for our residents.  These funds will offer opportunities to preserve housing affordability and shelter for those that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.  The funds will also assist our residents with their utility payments and grocery cards to meet their basic needs.  This emergency financial assistance is designed to provide services to individuals and families at risk of homelessness.

Applicants will be required to provide documentation of their hardship and meet the criteria listed in the application.  Applicants must agree to participate in the program by signing a participation and consent form, take part in a problem-solving interview, provide income verification, provide consent to participate in a follow-up interview with City staff or designee.  This program is time-limited and can be used for Rental Assistance, Utility payments and Groceries. If funding is fully expended, eligible applicants will be placed on a waitlist and notified if additional funding becomes available.
