It's National Public Works Week!
This week, the City of Niagara Falls is celebrating Public Works Employees who make our City great! This year’s theme is “Stronger Together” – a reflection of how the City’s Municipal Works employees work together to deliver services to the community.

Select Outdoor Recreational Amenities Reopening
Effective Saturday May 22, 2021, select outdoor recreational amenities will reopen, including: 
  • Tennis and basketball courts
  • Skate parks
  • Golf courses and driving ranges
  • Soccer and other sports fields  
  • Outdoor fitness equipment
No outdoor sports or recreational classes are permitted. Team sports are not to be practiced or played within the amenity. For additional details, read the media release available at ontario.ca
 
Whirlpool Road Pedestrian Bridge - Installation
Installation of the Whirlpool Road Pedestrian Bridge
The Whirlpool Road Pedestrian Bridge and Trail Extension project is the first step toward establishing a safe and convenient way for users of the Millennium Trail to continue along to the Niagara Parkway Recreational Trail. This project is being implemented for the City of Niagara Falls by Rankin Construction Inc. and is expected to open to the public in Summer 2021.

Niagara Falls Fire Station No. 7 - Virtual Grand Opening
The City of Niagara Falls and the Niagara Falls Fire Department are proud to officially open the City's newest Fire Station!  Located at 8530 Lundy’s Lane, Station 7 is a state-of-the-art fire station, built for the future of fire service in our community. This station will extend our established high level of fire service with prompt response times to our expanding community in this area. Stay tuned to the City's social media and website for a complete, in-depth virtual tour of the station!

Niagara Falls Exchange Public Art Project
The City is excited to announce that the new Niagara Falls Exchange will be home to an original piece of Canadian public art. We are looking for qualified Canadian artists or creative artist teams to produce an original work of permanent public art, to be located in the Main Street Plaza of the Exchange, between the market hall and cultural hub. 

The Pre-Qualification of Artists document for the Niagara Falls Exchange Public Art Project can be accessed online.  Submission will be received until June 2, 2021. Visit letstalk.niagarafalls.ca to learn more.

Niagara Falls Farmers' Market is Now Open!
The Niagara Falls Farmers' Market season has begun! Running every Saturday in the MacBain Community Centre parking lot, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine! Come enjoy the best of local farmers, growers, bakers, and makers. COVID-19 safety protocols are in place. Learn more at niagarafalls.ca
 
MacBain Community Centre - COVID-19 Vaccination Site
Vaccination Clinic Information
The MacBain Community Centre continues to serve the community as a Niagara Region Public Health vaccination site (by-appointment only), with new dates added the week of June 1, 2021. The building is fully accessible and provides ample, free parking.

Celebrating Seniots - Senior of the Year and Senior Achievement Awards
Ontario Senior Awards: Nomination Deadlines Approaching
Do you know of an outstanding senior who has enriched the social, cultural or civic life of our community? Nominate them for an Ontario Senior of the Year Award (deadline May 27) or an Ontario Senior Achievement Award (deadline June 15).

You may nominate anyone age 65 or older, who lives in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and who has made our city a better place to live through contributions to any field such as the arts, literature, community service, volunteering, education, environment, fitness, or humanitarian activities.

Return of Morning and Afternoon Peak Services on Select Routes - Niagara Falls Transit
Morning & Afternoon Peak Services Have Returned
Earlier this month, Niagara Falls Transit welcomed back Morning and Afternoon peak services on Routes 101, 102, 103, 105, 106, 107 and 108.  

🕙 Departure times for all routes leaving the main Transit Hub's have remained unchanged, however, some arrival times have been adjusted.

📱 Passengers are encouraged to access the Transit App when planning a trip for up to the minute scheduling information.

Victoria Day: Monday, May 24, 2021
City administrative offices will be closed for Victoria Day on Monday May 24, 2021. Niagara Falls Transit will be running a holiday schedule. Please call 905-356-1355 in the event of a municipal service related emergency.
