Psychopharm for Psychotherapists
Webinar
Wed May 26 7:00-8:30pm

Everything a therapist needs to know about psychiatric medications and treatments, followed by a Q&A.

If you know me then you know I love collaboration and teaching.  I think it's very important that we all have a good basic understanding of each other's fields so we know how best to work together to help our patients.

Due to more frequent visits and higher comfort levels, therapists are often more likely to hear about their patients' medication issues than psychiatrists.  It's therefore important to know what's normal, what's a big red flag, and what requires a call to the psychiatrist.

I will cover issues such as:
  • Which side effects are normal and will pass, which are not and require medical attention?
  • How should benzos be safely used?
  • What's this wacky name I've never heard of? (VRAYLAR?!)
  • Which medications are dangerous in overdose?
  • What does a good medication response look like?
  • How can I help my patient discern between such scenarios as: (a) it's too soon to tell, give it time (b) medication may work but this particular one does not (c) it's time to find a new psychiatrist...?

The talk will take place Wednesday, May 26 at 7:00-8:30pm. Seats are $65 each, with a $10 discount to you for every friend you refer. Seats are limited to ensure that there is time to answer all questions. I hope to see you there!
