Chroma Zone kicks off with "Open Street" Celebration  
@ Bradford & Endicott Streets, Saturday, May 22, 2021, 1 to 5 p.m.

Kick off a summer of murals at a free, outdoor family-friendly art and community event on the closed streets of Bradford and Endicott Streets in the CEZ.

DON'T MISS!

Live painting at the BANG IT! Mural Meet, featuring Focus Smith, Tom Jay, Daren Hill, Nu-One and Jordan Hamilton. Watch these talented artists bang out five murals during this four-day street art event curated by Peyton Scott Russell @ Bang Brewing (2320 Capp Rd.) and Urban Growler Brewing (2325 Endicott St.)

Live pottery-throwing demos and mug sale at Deneen Pottery (2325 Endicott St.) Discover the skilled craftspeople of this unique, family-owned business where each mug is hand-thrown.

Live music by Empire Nights. Enjoy 40 minutes sets by Empire Nights at 1:00, 2:00 and 4:00 pm at Deneen Pottery.

Live graffiti demos by advanced students of SPRAYFINGER. Watch students from this unique school of art dedicated to teaching of the art, history, and techniques of graffiti and street art.

Live sound performance by BEATRIX*JAR from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Get into the groove with sound duo and 2020 muralists Bianca Janine Pettis (BEATRIX) & Jacob Aaron Roske (JAR). (Also see their "Bird Enterprise Zone" mural at 2340 Charles Ave.)

Pop-up performance by Young Dance at 3:00 p.m. near the "Wycliff" mural.

Open House and Tenant Showcase at The Wycliff (2327 Wycliff St.). Discover the entrepreneurs and makers of this unique industrial creative space, including:
Hands-on Street Mural Art Activity with ARTS+REC. Grab a brush and help Chroma the streets @ Endicott and Bradford St. with biodegradable cornstarch paint.

2021 Chroma Zone artist line-up. Discover the 10 local muralists selected to paint during the festival this summer, and the first 2021 mural by Rock "Cyfi" Martinez , already underway on the south wall of The Wycliff (2327 Wycliff St.). Stop by to see him work and discover all the artists, bios, and more at chromazone.net/2021.

100 Trees Initiative, a CEZ greening project with partners Saint Anthony Park Community Council, Transition Town – All St. Anthony Park, Saint Paul Forestry, Landbridge Ecological and more. Learn how gravel tree beds will allow the CEZ to grow and plant 100 trees in 2021.

Food & Food Trucks - Find good eats on the patio @ Urban Growler BrewingNorthern Fires Pizza @ Bang Brewing, and food & drink trucks BeatEats, Steven D'sIcy Icy Baby and Jinx Tea.

Local Beer Gardens @ local taprooms Bang Brewing (2320 Capp Rd) and Urban Growler Brewing (2325 Endicott St.). 

Self-Directed Mural Tours (10+ within walking distance.) Pick up a free map at the CEZ booth located near the Can Can Wonderland bus and enjoy a fun, self-directed and socially distanced adventure.

Minnesota Art Cars - See the cars and meet the creatives behind The Minnesota ArtCar + ArtBike Parade.

Mural Bike Tour with Julia and Shari from the Saint Paul Bike Coalition. Meets in the Raymond-University area, and ends at the Kick-off Celebration. Learn more at chromazone.net/programming.
