In case you missed our webinar on breastfeeding and COVID-19 vaccination yesterday, you can now access the recording via the IMPRINT website. You also find a link to two opinion pieces on the topic published in the BMJ in December 2020 and January 2021 on the website.
In the webinar, Dr Natalie Shenker from Imperial College London spoke about challenges and opportunities in COVID-19 vaccination during lactation. Her presentation was complemented by a personal report from Dr Gemma Partridge, a consultant obstetrician at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospitals NHS Trust, on her own experiences of receiving the vaccine whilst breastfeeding and her advocacy work to ensure access to the vaccine for women who are breastfeeding and women who are pregnant. The presentations were followed by a panel discussion with both speakers and IMPRINT Steering Group members Dr Beth Holder from Imperial College London and Dr Chrissie Jones from the University of Southampton.
We would also like to inform you that the IMPRINT members Dr Clare Cutland and Dr Nellie Myburgh from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg published a paper on knowledge and attitudes towards maternal immunisation in an urban setting in South Africa.
