A New Ministry
Perhaps you were there with us at the Stafford Centre in November 2019 for the inaugural performances of “Season of Love,” sponsored by Houston Chinese Church.
As you settled into the comfortable seats at the theater, you heard beautiful music, saw graceful dancing, and were engaged in a drama of two families, each with their own trials and relationship issues. As the evening of singing, dancing, drama and video unfolded, you were captivated by how God worked through the story of the drama.
Prior to 2019, performances of this nature were all performed at the church. It was a step of faith to bring the mission to a public theater, to further the outreach.
This was met with tremendous success, and under the leadership of Iris Li, a new non-profit ministry was born in 2020: ACTS Performing Arts Ministry (演艺使徒). This ministry is comprised of volunteers who are dedicated to impacting others with their God-given talents in performing arts. It will create musicals onstage to share God’s love, to bring joy to the audience and inspire them with compelling music and life-changing stories.

A New Show
We are pleased to announce that, together with Houston Chinese Church, we will present a new musical at the Stafford Centre in November 2021. Before that can happen, however, two conditions must be met:
- The state of the pandemic: If social distancing measures are still in place in September, the show will regrettably be rescheduled for 2022.
- Funding: This ministry is a non-profit that is funded by donations. The budget for a performance of this scale and operating/development costs is $50,000. The goal is to raise 80% of this amount by mid-October 2021 in order for the show to go on.

- Preparation for the performance - rehearsals will begin soon
- Pandemic - that conditions will continue to improve so that a theater performance will be possible
- Funding - that the Lord will move His people to donate to fund this ministry
