Newsletter - June 2021

Welcome to the first edition of the Pathways for Carers newsletter in June 2021! We look forward to keeping you updated on all things carer related, as well as news regarding our wonderful carer groups.

To learn more about Pathways for Carers, you can find our video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogKnF_lb5l4

As Covid restrictions ease throughout Victoria, it has never been more important to connect with others. At Pathways we have seen that firsthand, as local government representatives and health services rally to form carer support groups in their local electorates. As a result, we now have new Pathways groups in Hawthorn, South Yarra, Rhyll, Wonthaggi and Sale. This is in addition to our existing walks in Mt Evelyn, Ringwood, Healesville, Wheelers Hill, Rowville and Alexandra. How exciting! We are absolutely thrilled to be providing support to carers in these areas and can't wait to continue rolling these programs out across our beautiful state.

If you or someone you know is a carer in these local government areas then please visit our website for more details on meeting locations, dates and times:

Alternatively, if there is no group in your local area and you would like to launch one then please contact us here https://www.pathwaysforcarers.com.au/contact-us/

Would you like to adopt a role that increases your confidence, capacity and skill set? Our Pathways for Carers free walking events are led by carers for carers. It’s what makes our program unique.

We are seeking expressions of interest from carers willing to facilitate these events on a voluntary basis in their local council electorate https://www.pathwaysforcarers.com.au/become-a-lead-carer/

Our wonderful Murrindindi lead carer Anthea Forbes talks about what being a lead carer means to her and the local community https://www.pathwaysforcarers.com.au/lead-carer-anthea-forbes-alexandra/
