🚎 Allegheny County Port Authority will be lifting capacity limits in two phases starting at the end of the month, but masks will still be required for vaccinated and unvaccinated riders. Starting May 31, the capacity measures include:
- On 35-foot buses, capacity will increase from 10 riders to 15
- On 40-foot buses, capacity will increase from 15 riders to 25
- On 60-foot buses and light rail cars, capacity will increase from 25 to 35 (TribLIVE)
💉 A new poll shows that a quarter of Pennsylvania residents don’t want a COVID-19 vaccine. Of 1,044 people polled, 25% said they probably or definitely won’t get the vaccine. Factors like political affiliation, age, income, education level, and race play into a person’s decision to get vaccinated, according to the study from Penn State Harrisburg Center for Survey Research. Vaccine hesitancy is higher in rural communities, especially in the south-central region of PA. (90.5 WESA)
🚚 The City of Pittsburgh is getting a little bit greener with its first all-electric bucket truck for the Forestry Division. It’s one of nine new electric vehicles the city is planning to purchase with a state grant from the Department of Environmental Protection’s Alternative Fuels Incentive Grants program. (TribLIVE)
🎨 Local arts professionals are uniting to form an advocacy program, the Pittsburgh Arts Administrators of Color. The goal of PAAC is to “unify and connect arts administrators of color in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.” The group wants to bring knowledge and opportunity to arts administrators of color.
