NEW MASK REGULATIONS FOR VACCINATED INDIVIDUALS

On Monday, May 17, Mayor Bowser announced fully vaccinated individuals only need to wear masks or social distance in places where it is required. 

Everyone is required to wear a mask in the following places:

  • On the metro, buses, taxis, ride shares, and all other public transportation.
  • Schools and childcare facilities.
  • Healthcare settings.
  • Homeless shelters.
  • When required per workplace or establishment policy. 

During the situational update it was clarified that if a business posts a sign stating a mask is required, then you must wear a mask to go in.

2020 TRANSIT DEVELOPMENT PLAN OPEN FOR COMMENT 

DC Circulator’s mission is to deliver affordable, comfortable, and efficient bus service that connects people to business, culture, and entertainment throughout the District.

To support this mission, DC Circulator adopted its first Transit Development Plan in 2011 and has since regularly updated it every three years.

The most recent version, the 2020 Transit Development Plan, is available now for public comment.

CRAZY AUNT HELEN'S COMING TO BARRACKS ROW 

A new restaurant will be joining Barracks Row slated to open mid June 2021! Crazy Aunt Helen’s will bring American Comfort Food prepared with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and love to Capitol Hill at 713 8th Street SE.

The menu will include takes on classics, including a version of his grandmother’s traditional Jewish style brisket, house cured corned beef for Reuben Sandwiches and Corned Beef Hash, as well as Shepherd’s Pie and a Half Roasted and Brined Chicken.

Crazy Aunt Helen’s will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.  In the future, different entertainment themed nights will be offered upstairs.  Opening hours are Wednesday through Monday, 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM

EASTERN MARKET PLAZA PAVILION CONSTRUCTION

Preparations are now underway for the installation of the pavilion at the Eastern Market Metro Park. 

The construction is apart of the Phase 2 of Eastern Market Metro Park redesign that includes the pavilion for future community gatherings and events, a bosque sitting area, artwork, additional lighting, bioretention areas, trees, and plants.

Construction will be taking place during the permitted hours of 7:00 am to 3:30 pm on Monday through Saturday.
