TIM MCOSKER EARNS SUPPORT OF UNITE HERE LOCAL 11 IN CD-15 BID
UNITE HERE Local 11 Joins Growing List of Labor Endorsers Behind Tim McOsker’s LA City Council Campaign


SAN PEDRO, CA -- In another indication of his extensive support from working families in the race for Los Angeles City Council District 15, today Tim McOsker, a longtime local attorney, non-profit executive, community volunteer, and former Chief of Staff to then-Mayor Jim Hahn, secured the endorsement of UNITE HERE Local 11.

UNITE HERE Local 11 represents over 32,000 workers employed in hotels, restaurants, airports, sports arenas, and convention centers throughout Southern California.


Maria Gurrola, Cook at DoubleTree Hotel San Pedro and 20 year resident of San Pedro, released the following statement with the announced endorsement:

"As a hotel worker living in San Pedro, I have to fight to protect my home from illegal short-term rentals and to make enough money to pay my bills. UNITE HERE Local 11 supports Tim McOsker for Los Angeles City Council District 15 because he is a lifelong community leader who will stand up for working families in our city."

Tim McOsker is a lifelong San Pedro community member who has dedicated his career to improving the quality of life for all Angelenos. Tim has had a long history of serving San Pedro, and all Angelenos, in many critical leadership roles over his three decades of experience in government, including as Chief of Staff and Chief Deputy City Attorney for former Los Angeles Mayor James K. Hahn. Before serving in the City of Los Angeles, Tim served as city attorney to various Southern California jurisdictions. 

Today, Tim serves as Chief Executive Officer of AltaSea, a non-profit advancing scientific discovery and collaboration in ocean sustainability and the blue economy, augmenting job creation at the Port of Los Angeles. As a dedicated activist committed to improving his community, Tim also currently sits on the governing boards of numerous local organizations, including the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce, the San Pedro Historic Waterfront Business Improvement District (PBID), the Bridge Cities Alliance,  the Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers (South Bay), and the Linc Housing Corporation, which provides affordable housing solutions for Angelenos.

Tim's parents, Mac and Patricia, raised all 6 of their kids in San Pedro.   Tim and Connie (Tamburri) McOsker have been married for nearly 35 years and have 5 adult children who themselves were all raised in the District.
