MAY IS NATIONAL PRESERVATION MONTH

PAWV celebrates National Preservation Month throughout the month of May and well into the summer with the 2021 West Virginia Historic Preservation Conference, Partners in Preservation. With both virtual sessions and in-person workshops, there's something for everyone. We hope to see you there!

PARTNERS IN PRESERVATION CONFERENCE SCHEDULE 

This year's West Virginia Historic Preservation Conference kicks off at the end of the month with a collaborative discussion on promoting preservation trades in WV. Conference sessions continue throughout the summer and into early fall.  Registration is free, but required. View the full lineup of conference events on PAWV's website here

Collaborative Discussion: Promoting Preservation Trades in West Virginia and Annual Meeting
Virtual. Tuesday, May 25th, 5:30-6:30 pm.
We see an opportunity in West Virginia for more careers in historical building rehabilitation. Join PAWV in a collaborative discussion where we'll share ideas about how we can promote preservation trades businesses and educate more people in doing traditional building science in West Virginia. Annual membership meeting and a vote for Board of Directors to follow.

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR PAWV'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Governance of the Preservation Alliance of West Virginia is vested in a volunteer Board of Directors, who elect executive officers and are advised by an expert panel of volunteer consultants. Individuals interested in serving as a member of the Board of Directors must be a dues-paying member and should complete an application and return it to info@pawv.org.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING SAVING HISTORICAL PLACES GRANTS

PAWV has received a total of $8230 in donations since Giving Tuesday, which we've matched dollar-for-dollar for Saving Historical Places grants. Recipients thus far include the Wyoming Hotel, the Pence Hotel, and the Jefferson County Historic Landmarks Commission's Duffields Depot. Other funds have been ear-marked to use as a match for grant applications to support other projects. Thank you to the supporters who have helped make these preservation projects possible!
