LRT (Live Remote Tournament) Division:
Top 10 Things to Know Before Live Remote VEX Worlds

The 2021 Live Remote VEX Robotics World Championship presented by Northrop Grumman Foundation is coming soon, and we want you to be prepared with everything you need to have the best experience possible as you compete in the Live Remote Tournament division.

Top 10 Things to Know Before Live Remote VEX Worlds

  1. Equipment: Be sure you have all required field elements and game objects required to participate in VEX Worlds. The following will be strictly enforced:

  2. Technology: Prep all needed technology, robot equipment, and update Firmware. Have backup equipment ready just in case something goes wrong.

  3. Game Manual and Q&A: Review Game Manuals, especially the LRT section. Check these periodically to make sure you’re up to date.

    Game Manuals
    Q&As
  4. Important Documents: Review up-to-date LRT documentation, including the team guide and Troubleshooting Guide, found under the Important Documents tab on vexworlds.com.

  5. Compete Twice: Before competing at VEX Worlds, each team is required to compete in at least two (2) Live Remote Tournaments. Only official LRT events found on RobotEvents.com will count towards this requirement. This rule is in place to ensure that all teams participating in LRT at VEX Worlds have experience with the platform.

  6. Review your scheduled times and be at your computer on time: Be mindful of your schedule including assigned inspection times, scheduled matches, and judging interviews! If you do not arrive on time for your matches, we will wait 20-30 seconds and then run the match as scheduled.

  7. Inspection: Have your robot and field ready for inspection including the correct LRT field set up, and a legal robot that will pass the inspection checklist. Your inspection will take 15 minutes at remote.robotevents.com at your assigned inspection time (remember that all times are scheduled in Central Time). If you do not pass inspection during that time, you will not be eligible to compete in Live Remote Tournaments. It is your responsibility to contact support@roboticseducation.org with schedule issues or conflicts. Don’t forget about our pre-Inspection times:

    • VRC Teams: May 15th, 9 AM - 12 PM CT
    • VIQC Teams: May 22nd, 9 AM - 12 PM CT
  8. It’s Up to You: 2021 VEX Worlds will be a World Championship unlike any ever before. The success of this event depends not only on the volunteers and staff hosting the event but on each and every team participating. All teams should be mindful of the things they can do to help ensure the success of the event.

    • Reset your field in a timely manner
    • Communicate efficiently with other teams and volunteer
    • Understand how to navigate the LRT platform
  9. Be Patient: We understand you will have some downtime during VEX Worlds this year, but we want to encourage you to be patient during the event. Remember, we have a team of dedicated volunteers and staff committed to this event’s success. If your team encounters technical issues during the event, do not hesitate to contact our support staff using the support chat within the LRT platform.

  10. Team Spirit: Decorate your field areas, banners, team shirts - have fun (see Costume Submissions info below)!
