Learn more about Open Educational Resources!

This summer the library is offering a series of tiered sessions to introduce faculty to open educational resources (OER) and support them as they integrate open resources in their classes. The sessions will begin by introducing OER and build on each other to explore OER adoption and open pedagogy. Faculty do not have to attend all three but are encouraged to attend more than one if they are interested. Events will be on Zoom and in person in the Library Training Center.

The Texas A&M University System Council for Academic Technology and Innovative Education (CATIE) commissioned their Faculty Task Force to develop and distribute a survey (link here) to provide faculty an opportunity to voice their respective experiences with instructional technology.

Data gained from the survey will allow CATIE the ability to better serve System members using faculty feedback and will be used in research publications and presentations. The survey is anonymous and does not seek any personal information.

If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Dr. Jim Gentry, CATIE Faculty Task Force Chair, at gentry@tarleton.edu.

Academic Leadership Development

As we wrap up the year, I would like the thank all of the personnel who assisted with trainings, and Department Heads for attending the trainings that we have hosted. It has been a fabulous year. We will finish out the semester with an outdoor gathering to celebrate the end of the 2020-2021 academic year, so be on the lookout for an invitation.

I would also like to thank Dr. Catalin Dinulescu for his assistance as the faculty academic leadership development fellow. He has put in a lot of hard work creating a course that will assist College of Business students with soft skills and professional development.
