Hello Families,
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Can you believe there are only four more weeks of school? As we enter the home stretch of the school year, it’s important that all of us are reminded of the little things we can do to ensure a safe and successful final few weeks of school.
We are committed to keeping our community safe and healthy, and we recognize that there has been speculation around lifting restrictions and mandates. MMAEC will continue to support the mitigation protocols that have been adopted by our School Board through the end of the school year. The protocols include wearing masks, social distancing, hand washing, cleaning and screening.
MMAEC reports each positive case to the Muskegon County Health Department and they provide us guidance on who is required to quarantine. We work alongside the health department to identify close contacts, and it is up to the County Health Department to identify and direct individuals to quarantine. In the event your child is required to quarantine, someone from the Health Department will reach out to you privately. If you are not contacted, do not assume no one is quarantining. We are not permitted to share identifying information of individuals.
As always, please monitor your child for symptoms daily prior to sending them to school. If your student exhibits symptoms of COVID-19, they should stay home.
Thank you for your support and patience as we continue to navigate the challenges we are all facing. We promise to be open and transparent, as information and guidance continues to change quickly.
Thank you,
Melissa Manning
