VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! The NCA Family Mentor Program is looking for volunteers for the 2021-2022 school year.  The goal of the Family Mentor Program is to help welcome new families and help them feel part of the community as soon as possible. Earn 5 hours of volunteer time for next year by emailing new NCA families to answer questions and make them feel welcome. Ideally, this is a good volunteer opportunity for families with young children since most of the new families will be entering Pre-K. You will be assigned two families to mentor for the school year. Please contact Mara Brecht at marabrecht@gmail.com to sign-up or for further details. Thank you!

Preschool, Junior Kindergarten & Kindergarten End of Year Celebration.

Due to Covid restrictions, and our continued desire to keep our cohorts safe and separate, we have decided the Playdate at the Park does not adhere to our guidelines for safety. While we cannot continue with the playdate this year, we most definitely want to celebrate our students and have time for our good-byes and pictures.

On our last day of school, we will gather for early dismissal at 2:15 pm. This will allow us to have the time and space to say our goodbyes and have teacher photos if you’d like to take some. Each preschool and kindergarten classroom will have a specified location on campus to meet your class. (location TBD)

· Thursday, June 3rd

· 2:15 pm Dismissal**

· Time will be allowed for teachers to pass out the end of year gifts, families to take pictures if they’d like, and to say good-bye

· 2:45 pm end time

-This is to accommodate space on campus for our regular pick-up time.

We hope you can join us after our early dismissal with plenty of time to celebrate our classes!

**ECP will be available, at the regular time, for those who are unable to make our last day of school festivities. Please let your homeroom teacher know so we can plan accordingly.

Dear NCA Community,

It is hard to believe that this year is almost over. From many different perspectives, it has been challenging, yet gratifying. After 52 years in education, 22 years as a middle school /junior high teacher, and 30 years as a school counselor, I decided it was time to retire.

Thank you for your support, for the untiring support from NCA faculty and staff, and for the willingness of the students to work individually and in groups with me. Real learning continues for a lifetime. One of my goals as a counselor is to instill in the students an eagerness for a growth mindset, an understanding that we can learn from our mistakes. We all could use some help or guidance from time to time.

My hope is that the next school year will proceed with renewed fervor and maybe even without masks. Have a wonderful, rest-filled summer.

God bless you all!

Therese Schreiner

School Counselor

WE'RE BACKKKKKKKKKK!!

We are going to continue the races weekly until school lets out. Our first races are on Thursday and our last races will be on June 10th. We want to thank you for your support during this crazy year. So far we raised over $20,000 in the Wildcat Races and over $49,000 at the Dashing Derby!! What an amazing community we have!! Let's end the year even stronger!!

For those who are new, you buy an entry for an item. 1 entry = 1 racer. When it sells out we have a race. We have 25 racers(unless otherwise posted) so you have a 1-25 chance of winning the item that we ship to your house (again unless otherwise posted). Check out the FB link below to view past races and links to enter the race.

We're conducting private tours for our Early Learning Center!

Our preschool provides a child-centered learning program where children participate in meaningful play in a stimulating and joyful environment enabling a comfortable transition from home to school. We differentiate learning to suit the age and development of each learner. Students will prepare to think and act critically, creatively, and collaboratively, ensuring complete preparation for kindergarten and beyond.

We are dedicated to educating the whole child. Our unique and comprehensive program sparks curiosity and develops social-emotional, physical, spiritual, and cognitive growth. We emphasize language expansion and value the creative process over the finished product. Our teachers create settings that strengthen self-esteem and instill a love of learning. Throughout the day, learners engage in activities that foster independence, self-regulation, problem-solving, and decision-making. Our curriculum is filled with early literacy, math, science, social studies, Spanish, art, music, physical education, and yoga.

The program is for 3 and 4-year-olds.
To be considered, children must be toilet trained and 3 years old by Sept 1.

All families must wear a mask, receive a temperature check at the door, and schedule a tour time before attending the open house. Please click the link below to schedule your tour time.

Last week, our amazing 5th-grade students completed their Cartonera Book Project in Spanish and English.
Our eighth-grade students did an excellent job on their Hispanic Poetry Project.
A fun fact about Mrs. Salazar is that she owns a variety of pets. She has a snake, crabs, fish, birds, cats, dogs, and a dwarf rabbit named Pippa. She brought her rabbit last wek for her students to hold and pet. EVERYONE enjoyed cuddling sweet Pippa! She loved the attention and was very receptive to all the gentle rubs.
Last week, our second-grade students had a science lesson on pollination.
Last week, Our Middle School, Primary School, and Room 1 Preschool celebrated May Crowning by adorning the Blessed Mother Mary.
