Hello!

This Sunday is 'Helper Appreciation Day' in Hong Kong! Migrant domestic workers support our families in many ways - taking care of our elderly, preparing healthy home-cooked meals, getting the kids to school on time... the list goes on! They truly are a key part of our life in Hong Kong.

Did you know? In Hong Kong,
  • There are over 370,000 migrant domestic helpers. The majority of workers are from the Philippines and Indonesia, but there are also workers from countries such as Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal.
  • 1 in 8 households & 1 in 3 households with children employ a domestic helper
  • On average, a domestic helper is supporting 4-5 family members back home
  • The majority of domestic helpers are women, oftentimes mothers who are working abroad in order to provide a better future for their children.
There are many ways you could celebrate 'Helper Appreciation Day.' You could support your domestic helper to take self-development workshops, learn more yourself about domestic workers, or share a message of thanks with a special card!

Happy 'Helper  Appreciation Day! From all of us at Fair Agency

Baby Care Training for Domestic Helpers
We're excited to be able to offer a 15% discount to Uplifters' Online Baby Care Course for Domestic Helpers. We think it is a great resource because it's tailored to domestic helpers and is developed by a registered paediatrician, and a paediatric nurse.

Coronavirus Updates:
The second round of compulsory testing for all domestic workers ends 30 May (including 30 May).

Domestic helpers should make sure to not delete and keep the SMS Text Message with the COVID-19 test result in case they are asked for it. Or keep the vaccination records on their phones in case they are asked for this.
The Labour Department conducted an inspection on 16 May at areas where many domestic helpers congregate on their rest day.
