Large donation of books about North Carolina

Thanks to a generous donation from a long-time supporter of the library, we have a gorgeous collection of books about North Carolina in our online bookstore, Books Among Friends. We are making these books available to our members before we announce them to the general public. Topics range from UNC sports, NC history, academic books from UNC Press, art books from the NC Museum of Art, and many more. Most of the books are in pristine condition. You can find these books in the North Carolina section of Books Among Friends online.

Our shelves are quickly filling up with every kind of book you can imagine and more are being donated every day.

The Friends of the Durham Library is a group of volunteers that provides financial support to Durham County Library. In our 40-year history, we’ve raised more than $1 million for the library through book sales and memberships. Over 1,000 Friends contribute annually and many actively volunteer their time as well. The Friends received statewide recognition with the 2005 Frances B. Reid Award “for outstanding service to their library and their community.”
