Obituary

Theresa Kline: 1927-2021

Theresa (Nendick-Hipsman) Kline joined her much-loved John Kline on May 6, 2021, when she didn't awaken that morning after a life well-lived.

A true Irish gal, Theresa liked holidays, sharing her table with anyone needing a good meal served on nice plates. She cooked with lots of John's hand-grown veggies and prime beef on the Helmar Road farm. Truth be told, she really enjoyed going out to dinner, whether it be to a pub or to her favorite Moose club.

Theresa Kline is the mother of Portager board member Barbara Hipsman. Love you, Barb.

If you recall from Friday's newsletter, I had to go to Detroit this week and stopped in at Michigan's largest used bookstore. I picked up three books that I'll be mailing at random to three Portager readers with paid subscriptions. (Two of the three are books I've read, so I hope you enjoy them!)

I haven't done the drawing yet, so I'll extend the deadline to subscribe to tonight at midnight if you want to be included. We offer a "pay what you can" option for those who can't afford a full subscription, so a paid subscription in any amount is sufficient to be entered in the drawing.

It seems we have some bibliophiles around here, so I'll probably be doing more of these. See you Friday!
