BAG Art Events

"Show and Sell" Meet Up at BCC, May 26 6-8 pm
Let's get together and share tips for showing and selling art! We will be talking about photographing, printing, matting, framing, and packaging art for shows, studio tours, and affordable art sales. Several of our experienced members will be bringing in equipment and examples so other members can learn the tricks of the art trade. If you have something to show or share, bring it to the meeting! Otherwise, come and be part of the discussion and get some new ideas. RSVP on our site.

Social/Art Meetups: Come sketch at iPie May 19 5:30p
Our next pub sketching outing will be at iPie, Wed. May 19 at 5:30p. They are excited to host us and encourage some sketching. You don't need to RSVP, just show up with your portable art supplies and join us. Let Camie or Cathy know if you have a future location to recommend. Please wear masks and socially distance until public mandates change.

Plein Air
Camie is hosting our plein air painting sessions now through October. All artists (members or not) are welcome to join! We meet from 9am-noon on the first and third Thursdays of the month. Check out the schedule for the location rotation. Please wear masks and socially distance!

North Metro Artist Studio Tour
BAG members are invited to join with Paletteers for the 2021 North Metro Artist Studio Tour, August 20-22, 2021. If you are interested, tour sign up and artist information are due June 1.

This event was originally planned for last year but had to be cancelled. We were able to keep our grant money for this project and use it this year. We are hoping that by August, people will feel safe enough to participate, plus the weather is warm and artists can make use of outdoor spaces. We will have a zoom committee meeting soon to start working on the details. This is a joint project with Paletteers and the Broomfield Art Guild and is open to any artist in Adams or Broomfield County. Feel free to contact beckyesilver@aol.com if you have questions or comments.
December Christmas Party
Tentatively scheduled in-person at Cinzetti’s, details TBD.

Sculptures are finished using a variety of low fire slips and glazes.
  • Painting Pet Portraits” with Shawn Shea, ages 14 and up, Tues 6/15-7/20 (6 weeks), $140.00: Our four-legged furry (or two-winged, feathered) friends are begging for their own portrait. Working from photographs, students learn how to construct a perfect likeness using basic shapes and then focus on using observation skills to aid in the drawing process with the emphasis on drawing what you see, not what you know. Once an accurate drawing is complete, students transfer it to a preferred painting surface and explore ways to colorfully express the love they have for their kitty, pup or scarlet macaw. This class is for students with drawing and painting experience.
