R01 Paul Ricard - Race Preview
The Italian Formula 4 Championship is back and PREMA Powerteam will line up with four cars in the 2021 series opener at Circuit Paul Ricard. The French venue will welcome a packed field to its 5.8-kilometre Grand Prix layout for the start of the junior single-seater series, making one of its traditional trips outside the Italian borders.
With high-level competition including new additions and many second-year drivers, PREMA Powerteam hopes to defend its title 2020 title sweep.
Making his return to the PREMA ranks, Sebastian Montoya will be driving the #6 car. The 16-year-old Colombian/American has maximized his preparation and hopes to rebound from a season conditioned by an early lack of running due to travel restrictions. Russian Kirill Small will also make his return to the team, and in a full-time capacity, after impressing in the final stages of 2020 and in the 2021 F4 UAE series. He will drive the #7 car.
Running her familiar #88, Hamda Al Qubaisi will move to the team's Italian F4 ranks. The 18-year-old Emirati comes from three wins in the UAE series and an ever-improving 2020 debut. Last but not least, 15-year-old Dane Conrad Laursen will make his championship debut with the team driving the #20 car. In 2020, he took the F4 Danish Championship crown with two wins and seven podiums.
