Our annual CAP celebration was a very different occasion this year, as we welcomed speakers and award winners to a hugely successful online event on March 31 when we also launched our 2020 annual report.
Speakers included our chair Derek Lewis, who praised the resilience and determination of local communities to tackle alcohol harm among young people and improve their health and wellbeing during this difficult time. He also outlined CAP’s plans for an intensive programme of growth in Scotland.
Baroness Helen Newlove gave the keynote speech, in which she highlighted the importance of educating young people on how alcohol harm can impact on health, wellbeing and prospects, while Nikki Davies, Health and Wellbeing in Schools Co-ordinator at West Berkshire Council, described how CAP’s Young Health Champions course was ensuring that young people are equipped to make the right decisions about issues including alcohol, drugs, anti-social and criminal behaviour.
