Garden Suites Public Consultation Meeting
The Garden Suites Study is one of several studies that the City Planning Division is undertaking to expand housing options in Neighbourhoods as part of the Expanding Housing Options in Neighbourhoods (EHON) work program (EHON website), endorsed by City Council in July 2020.
Public engagement on Garden Suites is currently underway with the Garden + Suites Survey and a series of virtual community consultation meetings where residents can learn more, ask questions, and share comments about Garden Suites. The last consultation meeting takes place Thursday, May 13th from 6:30-8:30 pm.

337-349 Queens Drive Community Consultation Meeting
An application has been submitted to the city for a residential development comprised of 20 townhouse and 8 semi-detached dwelling units. The proposed townhouse and semidetached dwelling units would each contain an integral garage and be situated within three blocks with access from Queens Drive.

Local Road Area Speed Limit Reductions Coming to Ward 5
As part of the Vision Zero 2.0 – Road Safety Plan Update, the speed limit on all local roadways is being reduced to 30 km/h. This will be achieved through signing the new speed limits at the entry points to areas with lower speed limits as opposed to on individual streets.
At next week's meeting of Etobicoke York Community Council, Councillors will be considering a staff report to proceed with the speed limit reductions in Ward 5 (as well as Ward 7). Read the report here.
Final Report for Development at 1693-1707 Weston Rd and 10 Victoria Ave. E
The Final Report for the development at 1693-1707 Weston Rd & 10 Victoria Ave E will be presented at Etobicoke York Community Council on May 17, 2021. This application proposes a 24-storey mixed use building with 254 residential units, including 15 rental replacement units, and 466 square metres of retail space.
Preliminary Report for Development at 1575 Lawrence Ave. W
The owner of 1575 Lawrence Ave. W, located west of the gas station at Lawrence Ave. W/Culford Rd., has submitted an application to construct a 15-storey mixed use building. At Etobicoke York Community Council on May 17, 2021, Councillors will be considering the Preliminary Report from staff on this application. Following the adoption of this report, which can be found here, a community consultation meeting will be organized.

InTO the Ravines Grant Program
Brought to you by Park People, in partnership with the City of Toronto, the InTO the Ravines Grants program will be providing $1,000 grants to support grassroots community groups, Indigenous organizations, park friends groups, community associations, BIAs, neighbourhood groups, local community agencies, and others to host two simple environmentally-focused ravine events either in person or online. The City of Toronto has partnered with FCJ Refugee Centre and Access Alliance to help people without an Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) card get the COVID-19 vaccine in Toronto. The City is committed to ensuring equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines for everyone. The Province of Ontario has clearly stated that if you do not have an Ontario health card at all, you are still eligible for the vaccine.
Residents without OHIP cards who meet the current vaccine eligibility criteria can get assistance booking a vaccination appointment at a City-operated immunization clinic by contacting:

In-Home COVID Vaccinations
Adults 18 years of age or older who live in the City of Toronto and cannot physically leave their home to receive the vaccine for medical, physical, cognitive or psychosocial reasons are eligible for in-home vaccination. An essential caregiver who lives in the home may also be vaccinated if they are eligible at the time of booking for other reasons (based on age or caring for someone with certain medical conditions as per Provincial eligibility).

Primary care provider / physician primary care team: Primary care teams will identify patients, conduct screening and get consent for homebound vaccination. Please connect with your primary care provider to follow up on your vaccination schedule.
Homecare and Community Service provider: Home care and community service providers will identify patients, conduct screening and get consent for homebound vaccination. Please connect with your homecare or community service provider to follow up on your vaccination schedule.
Home and Community Care Support Services (HCCSS): HCCSS will identify patients with chronic home care needs, conduct screening and get consent for homebound vaccination and Toronto Paramedic Services will schedule and complete vaccinations. Please call HCCSS at 416-506-9888 to follow up on your vaccination schedule.
If you are not linked with any primary care or home care provider: Call Toronto Seniors Helpline at 416-217-2077 to be referred to a clinician who will confirm your eligibility, conduct screening and get consent for homebound vaccination.
If you receive care through primary care or homecare and HCCSS, please contact your primary or homecare provider first. If your primary care or homecare service provider cannot provide the vaccine, you will be referred to Toronto Paramedic Services.
