Wednesday, June 9 - Friday, June 11 | Three day virtual conference

Passive-Aggressive Behavior: Sources and Solutions for Library Workspaces

This webinar will bring together research from multiple fields on how to handle passive-aggressive behavior, with particular tips for librarians.

Basic Cataloging and Classification
Tuesday, June 29 - Monday, July 26 | Four week online course
This four-week online course will provide an overview of library cataloging and classification and prepare you to do copy cataloging. Through reading materials, online forums, and individual exercises, you will gain knowledge of basic cataloging rules and tools, commonly used controlled vocabularies, the Dewey Decimal Classification system, and MARC21 format. This course satisfies LSSC requirements.

Engaging Your Community Online

Tuesday, June 29 - Monday, July 26 | Four week online course
Due to COVID-19, many libraries shut their physical doors and worked in a virtual environment for weeks if not months. During this time, librarians had to quickly adjust their ways of interacting with the public. There was not a great deal of time to consider best practices for online engagement. As the pandemic wanes, many reasons remain to engage your community in online environments.

Creating Anti-Racist Storytimes: Activism, Belonging, and Change Workshop
Thursday, July 1 | 11:30 a.m. | 90 minute workshop
In this workshop, librarian and literacy activism expert Janet Damon shows you how to use storytime programs to help facilitate an anti-racist environment in your community. You will learn how to share and discuss stories that help parents and children talk about race, identity, and belonging in age-appropriate ways. You’ll also explore authentic examples of programming and learn ways to begin your own anti-racist and anti-biased storytimes.
