A Year of emergencies – A Year of recovery
“The events in 2020 impacted directly the lives of all children, especially the most vulnerable ones, in many ways. At the start of the year, memories and damages of the strong November 2019 earthquake in Albania were recent. As the World Vision team was responding to the earthquake crisis, another crisis was about to hit and to stay with us for a long time.  At the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, World Vision International declared a global emergency and took immediate actions to respond to the emerging needs.
As part of this global action, World Vision Albania mobilized the resources to address the needs in food security, health, mental health, child protection, education, and livelihoods, reaching more than 60,000 children in 24 municipalities.” - extracted from the prologue of the National Director for World Vision Albania, Ms. Eljona Boçe Elmazi.

Social Justice
By Diana Kanaj
#Drejtësiasociale (Social justice) social justice is closely related to equity, which means creating equal opportunities for all citizens. COVID-19 pandemic is putting children at higher risks, thus exacerbating inequalities, especially for vulnerable groups.
In this regard, apart from the need to intervene with a large-scale national job creation schemes (with special focus on women, poor communities, disability, communities living in suburban areas) to rapidly absorb the increasing number of unemployed people, there is a need to help the local economy recover, in particular small-scale agricultural production.

World Vision is a global Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. Every year, World Vision Albania and Kosovo works with about 50 thousand children through programs in 25 municipalities.

World Vision is recognized in communities as their mobilizer and liaison with institutions and organizations on issues that affect children's lives. Together we have supported families, informed, raised awareness and advocated for the most vulnerable children. During 20 years of work, we have cooperated with 56 organizations 18 churches and faith-based organizations.
