ACCESS to
OPPORTUNITIES
EDUCATION and
"We see a world where all people are empowered through
education to enrich their lives and reach their fullest potential."
Thank you for believing in the power of education to transform lives.
Thank you for choosing to sponsor a child through Out of Afrika and giving them a future that would otherwise be beyond their reach or even their imagination.
Imagine a young man learning to build furniture, a young girl training to be an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), A young man training to be an electrician or a plumber, all these and many more have a new vision of the future thanks to your generosity! Thank you for changing lives.
Exam results are out.
Out of Afrika is committed to excellence and puts every effort to ensure that the sponsored students get the best education out of sponsorship. These students benefit much in school through focusing on their studies to enable them to get the current trend in education site. The students were advised to be independent and focus on their own success which comes from striving to excel. Through success they will eradicate poverty in their homes and in community at large.
There has been a great struggle since Covid-19 hit the world as many people has lost their sources of income. Schools has been on and off. The school calendar has been interrupted and the KCPE and KCSE were done on April unlike the previous years where it was done as the year ends. We are now in May and the students are in third term of the academic year. Grade 4 students and class 8 shall resume in July to transit in the next class with the rest of the students.
We had 15 students who sat for KCSE on April 2020 and they really performed very well. We are proud that 8 out of 14 students will be able to join University and pursue a course of their dreams.
Our Challenge
Many children do not have the opportunity to continue their education past primary school. As a result many end up trapped in a cycle of poverty that deprives them of life's most basic needs.
Those who do complete their education often lack advice and mentorship to make best and informed career and educational choices/decisions, based on the current trends and job opportunities.
Our long-term Solution
We are helping the children to excel both at home and at school. We have been holding career guidance and mentorship to help them find career opportunities after college or university graduation ensuring they don't drop out of school but instead gain the skills, credentials and networks they need to contribute to and benefit from Kenya's growing economy.
In the next few days we shall individually be contacting sponsors whose children have finished school or moving on to the next level in their education.
