Descartes-Huygensprijs

De Descartes-Huygensprijs is in 1995 ingesteld door de Franse en de Nederlandse regering om de Frans-Nederlandse wetenschappelijke samenwerking onder de aandacht te brengen bij onderzoekers en het bredere publiek. Elk jaar worden twee winnaars gekozen: Nederland selecteert de Franse winnaar en Frankrijk kiest de Nederlandse winnaar voor deze prijs. De prijs beoogt de wetenschappelijke carrière van een excellente onderzoeker op het gebied van Frans-Nederlands onderzoek te stimuleren.

De prijs bestaat uit een geldbedrag van 23.000 euro per winnaar. Dit bedrag kan worden besteed aan een onderzoeksverblijf of meerdere werkbezoeken van een Franse onderzoeker in/aan Nederland en omgekeerd. Daarnaast kunnen desgewenst andere activiteiten in het kader van de Frans-Nederlandse wetenschappelijke samenwerking worden uitgevoerd.

LLRC-Conference 

4 June 2021
The Language Learning Resource Centre at Leiden University is organizing an on-line conference (June 4th, 2021) on the interplay between second language learning practice, theory, and research. The keynote speaker will be Prof Jan Hulstijn (University of Amsterdam), whose main research interests include second language learning theories and language proficiency. The title of his talk will be ‘Might second-language instruction benefit from the view of Language as a Complex Adaptive System?’.

RDM Information Meeting

ACLC members are invited to attend an information meeting on Research Data Management.

The new data steward for the faculty of Humanities, Hanna Fricke, will host an information meeting on RDM about the following topics:

  • Introduction to the Research Data Management (RDM) policies at UvA
  • Overview of UvA infrastructure and services for RDM
  • Application to specific ACLC projects

The meeting targets all who are doing or going to do research for the UvA, including PhD candidates, junior and senior researchers.

ABC Networking Event 2021: Reconnecting Researchers

Reconnect with fellow ABC members and other Amsterdam based brain and cognition researchers virtually at this year's online ABC Networking Event.

After more than a year of little opportunity to connect with your co-workers and fellow ABC members, it is more important than ever to reconnect with each other. This is what we set out to do during this year’s ABC Networking Event. We stay true to our goal and once again look forward to bringing together the ABC researchers, as well as our fellow Amsterdam-based brain and cognition researchers from the NIN and Amsterdam Neuroscience communities, to foster old and new relationships and possibilities for (re)connections and collaboration.
